A 17th century city builder set in New England has been on my dreamlist for a long time. Will definitely be watching out for this one. Only thing that I'd like better is a more "true to life" survival focused game in the same setting. Settlers who run the risk of injury/have individual skills/stats (lucky everyone here seems to be a carpenter), buildings that take more realistic materials and build times to construct (where are the nails, why do you just 'have' tools), each day should be a day not a month, etc.

That's funny, I just read an article where the 17th century was literally the worst century to live on earth. With wars, a mini ice age that lead to food shortages, which lead to rebellions. It was an interesting read. Most thinkers of time thought it was leading to the end of our world.

Great looking game. I always thought a strategy game based in 17th/18th century America would be amazing with so much material between native tribes, English, French, Spanish, Dutch rivals along with just basic survival and exploration/resource extraction/trade.

There are so many games with this concept, it would be really great if they all combined their efforts to make one big masterpiece!

Idk, the roads need work. There's a lot of stuff that looks cool here, but also a lot that looks a bit like the games I was playing 10 years ago. Not that it's a complete deal-breaker, but I'd be curious to see more of this game

Looks like a fun game. Like Banished, but with the things I wished Banished had. I was going to say a cool looking game in a historical time I am intetested in, but then thought about it, and could not think of one I am not intetested in. As it does have Bremuda, as a Canadian, I hope in the future they expand with a more Northern colony too.

rap what are your favorite city builders? it could be of all time or just in recent memory. I love a good city builder especially if you have to deal with outside forces/elements trying to mess with you and survival elements like dealing with weather, etc.

The Tailor's, and other building are on the way, according to the Devs. But no date on their expected arrival. Tips for @Raptor and other players of Colonize Prologue & beyond. 1. 1st Build 2 houses. *_Your citizens age 1 year per day._* 😲 Eventually max out to 5 Homes in demo. 2. Build Resource Gathering. Forestry, Hunting, Mining & at least 2 Farms However, Chicken and Pig Farms are year round. 3. You can Right Click the occupation Squares in buildings to lower the max workers. Left click will add the dropped squares back. 4. Note: Fishing and Farming are Season based occupations. The workers for them become idle in Winter, and can be re-allocated to the Warehouse. 5. Children start work at age 10. They are auto assigned to the Warehouse. 6. To get Gold, Sell your Leather, Tobacco, and any excess material you do not need. 7. Want more Resources on hand? I'm sorry for stepping on anyone's toes, but this looks like the umpteenth overhaul of Banished. It essentially comes down to: gather resources in quite unrealistic ways and build grids. That's not how settlements worked in any period in history. Where is that builder that allows organic growth of settlements while having a realistic economic model?

What would be cool as either a dlc or a sequel is if the next game is set in 1652 in south africa when the "cape colony" were born. and to experience the boer war and the great trek!

they did not suffer persecution, they tried to make the UK puritan , we told them to bugger off and they said 'you are persecuting us' and left. We were happy to see the back of them.

The map does not seem to match that of the real-life Plymouth, Massachusetts, but it is well possible that the topography in this area had considerably evolved over the 200 years (compare the early maps of Boston and New York City from the colonial period with today). I can't find any maps showing what the 17th-century Plymouth area after its settlement looked like, though.

I like the clean look of it! It looks very good organized and logical. I like as well that roads and buildings can @ least also be placed diagonally. And what I like most of all is; that not the whole game is scattered with ugly symbols or emoticons! This will be the first civilization-simulation ever I will start playing. I just hope, that war will not be an pushed forward of the devs. as a aspect one cannot avoid; coz these R my first and foremost killer-arguments for any game: War, human slaughtering and zombies!

Man, that map at 8:32 actually pains me. They clearly mapped Quabbin Resevoir (that big lake to the very left of the map), but Quabbin wasn't created/dammed/flooded until the 1930s; it wouldn't have existed in the time period the game is set in. :(

Man I was hoping for a game like the old game 7 Cities Of Gold. Been wanting something like that for ages now.

didn't see much that I haven't seen in other games I have played, looks nice enough but I doubt It would keep my attention long enough to compare to previous games.

So they built a tavern before building houses lol I guess it makes sense, a communal area to eat and drink when the ship has bunks to sleep.

Discovering this video has had both good and bad points for me. Bad because I'm working on my own game which I believe to be unique, and this game appears to be trying to do a bunch of my mechanics. Good because every comment you've made so far of "it would be cool if you could..." has been about mechanics going into my game.

What I don’t get when I play this game is my citizens start dying from hunger when I have food. Makes no sense other then that which I can’t figure out it’s pretty fun…

I don't see that this game offers anything that I couldn't have found in a game in 1999.

My family emigrated to early New York to escape persecution from France in the 17th century. Not that it matters but this game looks damn fun.
