The guy at the end 🥰 My hubby tried to act cool so our video only has some moments, but I've been working on getting him seeing an ultimate sunset. He'd never seen any pastel colours, Orange and most reds and blue. Also people's skin tripped him out, he calls me "Green Miranda" now when he doesn't have the glasses on 😂
@solarnaut

Haaa ! Hi Green Miranda ! Thanks for sharing that. We lizard people ARE quite trippy ! I find something a little unsettling in the voyeuristic quality of enjoying these reaction videos, even if they are as wholesome as a child's excitement with soap bubbles and puppies. Rekindles the spirit, I suppose. B-)

"This is what you all see?" That kind of reaction gets me every time. It's so easy for the rest of us to forget the sublime beauty in the world just from the colors we see. Maybe the best analogy for us is Dorothy stepping out of the black and white house into the Technicolor world of Oz. It must be just magical.

When I bought a new car, the first thing I did was take my girl to a local Sonic drive in for a hotdog and milkshake and listen to old rock on the radio. When you present these glasses, the first thing you do is go for a drive and find a carnival with thousands of colors to let them take it all in. You take him to a flower shop to enjoy the entire rainbow. Do it the right way.

The reactions are always heart warming and it’s great to see, we should use these as a reminder that what we experience is often taken for granted. Go outside, look at the world you live in, remind yourself that there are amazing sensations to be had, it’s often that we just don’t see them anymore, go and take a breath, look around and you’ll see, hear, feel things that some can’t or won’t experience.

I have watched many of these EnChroma videos, but almost all the recipients knew what they were about to experience. Just once I'd like to see someone 'prank' the recipient. How? Order the glasses. Take them out of the box and put them in a nondescript case. Tell the 'victim' that you bought them on Ebay and that they were a set of prop glasses that Arnold wore in "The Terminator". Ask them to put them on. Watch the result.

As a "color blind" person, I'd like to clear up some misconceptions. 1. The term "color blind" is misleading and should not be used because it perpetuates the stereotype that the person can not see any color whatsoever. The correct term is "color vision deficiency" or CVD. For instance, I have red/green color deficient vision. Complete absence of color vision is extremely rare and is known as monochromacy. 2. People with color vision deficiency are on a spectrum, ranging from very mild to very profound deficiencies. I can differentiate many shades of red/green but not all. I would be considered mild to moderate color deficient with my vision. 3. Having color vision deficiency does not decrease cognitive function. The little bit of scientific information available suggests that the opposite may be true but more research needs to be done in this area. I graduated high school with honors. Twelve years ago at the age of 49, I went back to school to earn a degree in healthcare. I graduated with a 3.95 GPA in physical therapy and was elected president of my class. My brother, also colorblind did not do as well in school. There are so many factors affecting intelligence, it may be very difficult to parse out CVD as a primary factor. 4. Although the rods and cones are utilized for seeing detail, color deficient vision does not necessarily affect other aspects of vision. I've had 20/15 vision my whole life and got my first pair of glasses at age 45. 5. People with color deficient vision learn to adapt to their situation, just as anyone else having what is considered by the general population as a "handicap" do, in their specific area of function. I adapted to my situation and made a living in a very visual intensive field as a professional photographer for 27 years. I photographed people and products for magazine advertisements and consumer packaging that was seen by millions of people around the world. 6. Currently, there is no cure for color deficient vision. Enchroma states this on their website. 7. Enchroma glasses DO NOT fix or cure color deficient vision. Enchroma states this on their website. 8. Enchroma glasses only enhance the color a person already has by increasing the apparent contrast. This may allow some people to distinguish shades of certain colors that they were not able to previously. Enchroma states this on their website. 9. People with color deficient vision will most likely still fail a "color blind" test while wearing Enchroma or similar type glasses. 10. There are advantages with color vision deficiency. People with CVD can more easily detect camouflaged items since camouflage is designed to fool people with "normal" color vision. People with CVD are more sensitive to texture and patterns in these situations. I hope this clears up some misconceptions regarding color vision deficiency.
