Then you also get the lyrics like "anyways this will all pass " - with dawn, but still, it remains "irreversible" because as the "sun is falling" - as the night comes - their curse is back, and will always haunt them. They miss their old selves but can never go back to how they used to be, in fact, they're only getting worse - "I miss you more and more" and "you, who shined at me brightly, are getting lower" - they miss being pure and are losing all hope. "Day and night are pointless, the clock on the table, a starlight of the moon in its broken frame, only emptiness is left, I can't let go of it" suggests that they no longer care about the day-night cycle, but rather the sun and the moon - since these two always remind them of their curse and how it will always come with each twilight (yaaay, title!). It's only the morbid sun and the gloomy moon that they use to measure time since nothing else matters to them in their misery.
