My best gel tip is in Outdoor Portrait photography. By using a warm color gel on my main light illuminating the subject by warm light. The tip is decreasing the Kelvin in my camera's settings to compensate the warmth on the subject and add coldness to the background in order to get more saturated blue sky..💙😄

I did the combination of complementary colours with gel and smoke. It is amaaaaasing! The tip there is if you are using main/back light is that your main light is stronger that main and it is positioned behind the smoke so you can have that 'came out of portal' effect! Thanks for the video, I was struggling with the light bleed and now I am going to catch up that DYI grid for speedlight. Great job man, keep it up! 👏

Just started researching Gels after watching a photographer shoot a wedding with two speedlights on stands just like yours. The speedlights were one foot higher than his head and about 7 feet away on each side of him. He was shooting at 1/4 power with what looked like a CTO gel on each one. On his camera screen, the photos look great. We will get the edited photos shortly and I can see if they are still as good as what I saw on the screen. Spyros, as always your video gave me a lot of good information that I can use as I dabble in gel photography!!

Well done, Spyros. I appreciate the second viewpoint in your examples. Makes me want to get out there and take some damn photos! ;) I like to use a gel on the hair light, rim light or back light. Adding a touch of color sometimes enhances background separation and makes a shot more dynamic. I really like the examples of cross-over complimentary colors, and using flags. Thank you!
