I am soooooo grateful to you for all this free educational content you're putting out as I can't afford cgma right now. That one little tipp about contrasting the temperature of your light & dark area helped me so much. I'm way happier with my results now and I get a lot of positive feedback from others too. :)

I've been thinking about making a wall of illustration notes for a while now! Are you using a cork board or something more elaborate?

saf one start by taking mater paintings and nicely taken photos and try to break them down to 2-3 values and then analyze the structure or arrangement of them

very interesting,inspiring and useful video ! I don't really understand what is ambiant occlusion though ...
@draa0gon
@draa0gon 5 жыл бұрын
Ambient occlusion basically means areas getting darker when two objects are close together If you spread out your fingers 🖐️ and look at the inner sides of your fingers as you move them back together ✋ the sides get darker as your fingers move closer.

Cool video and thanks for doing it. Just to correct you on a small thing, one of the paintings you featured at the beginning, boy with dappled sun on his back, was not by Everett, but by an artist called Henry Scott Tuke.

Hey Tyler! Came from Part 1 of this series. I was wondering how many shades of each category (Dominant, sub-dominant, and accent colours) would be recommended for a technically "good" painting? I see some old paintings managed to fit in a lot more colours which I never thought would go well together!

when does saturation and desaturation occur in nature. cant understand it , need help .. i am loosing my mind over here !!!!! help please
@TylerEdlin84
@TylerEdlin84 4 жыл бұрын
gearhead depends on what your looking at and the lighting. For example most flowers on a sunny day are nice and colorful. Soil and dirt never really is. Some types of grass and trees look deep green on bright day.
@TylerEdlin84
@TylerEdlin84 4 жыл бұрын
gearhead there’s not a rule or principle on what should be saturated or what shouldn’t be. The clear point is something that is saturated will be very loud and attract attention so you need to choose what to saturated and by how much

@@TylerEdlin84 wow! thankyou for the response.usually i dont get a reply this fast. No i was asking if i could get some examples on where one can see saturation and desaturatin...i get shades and tint but i cant seem to understand saturation...like if one wants to mute colors , why not put grey directly rather than desaturating.? apologies for my ignorance. i have no formal training in art
@adygombos4469
@adygombos4469 4 жыл бұрын
@@syedwaleedshah2830 Not sure if I understand your question but saturation is basically how dull or bright the colors are. So it's like a scale from grey to a specific color.
@syedwaleedshah2830
@syedwaleedshah2830 4 жыл бұрын
@@adygombos4469 sorry ...i DO have a Lot of limitations with my understanding of saturation. what i am asking is that i have seen some artists mix complementary colors to reach desaturation. one of my questions is why is it prefered over directly using grey.
