Will I use it? I just did a little exercise with a similar photo of a VW Bus. I used the Color Replacement Brush to recolor it to blue. I then (on another copy of the photo) made a selection with the Smart Selection Brush (spending some time getting it close, but not perfect) and then masked to an HSL adjustment layer. The results were almost indistinguishable. But I would have to fiddle around more to perfect the mask. With the Color Replacement Brush, it was pretty easy to just go over it once and that's it. Works much better without continuous sampling on. You can always go back to an area and manually brush over something that needs it (which is the equivalent of re-sampling every time you click onto a new area). I would say for getting a job done fast, the Color Replacement Brush is a lot easier. But, of course, it is destructive and not as flexible as a masked HSL layer to change later. But for getting something done on a deadline, I can see the Color Replacement Brush being way easier because no matter how familiar I am with masking, it's still an unnatural act and requires a lot more thought and head space to make it work. Masking continues to be a PITA and I'm very sure that's why the AI programs are becoming more popular. The masking techniques used by these "hand-on" apps leave a lot to be desired. I hope Affinity can make masking a bit more user friendly.
