So excited for another season! I personally don’t mind seeing repeats in the mixtures you showcase. What is so special about these episodes to me is seeing how you use these colors in actual works

I grew up in Santa Cruz and I'm very familiar with the Banana Slug, however I can't say that I was fond of them. ;) They are beautiful creatures and your rendition is great! Season 3 is going to be awesome and I'm looking forward to every featured color mix! Happy painting, Denise!

Very informative, and I had never heard of a banana slug before, ours are a very dull brownish grey. You made me feel very old when you mentioned 2020 being the benchmark for the future, the one for people my age was 1984!

I have been living for yellows lately so glad we started with this one. Curious about the DaVinci being the “same” but not.. Contrary to Oto I love slugs 🐌 So a yellow slug banana slug at that is well up my alley, please make stickers!

Banana slugs are so cool! I've never seen one but I did grow up in an area with leopard slugs, I think they look like very very overripe bananas. Love your colour videos! Hansa yellow deep is going to be my next warm yellow after my cadmium yellow runs out.

I live on Northern Colorado, and a few years ago, my husband found a banana slug at a local plant nursery. I bought him a terrarium and tried to keep it as a pet. He was so neat! It's too dry here, he didn't last long, I should have gotten some kind of humidifier for his cage instead of trying to mist the cage manually. He sure was cool while he lasted. Beautiful painting!

Color Spotlight!! 💕💕💕 Taking such care to show new, unique colour mixtures means we've just gotta go watch the rest of the series to see others, right? Can't say I mind. :D Loooving the mixes with Perylene Violet (but then, I love Perylenes, so that's not a surprise). Nice to know a different way to make a sap green, too.

As a beginner (knew nothing about quality in water colors) & am missing some needed pure mix colors. Now think better to try out single tubes of a better quality & slowly build up my pallet w paint that don’t look & feel like chalk! You teach so well ty!

I'm so glad to see this series coming back, it's one of my favorites on your channel! I own this pigment in the schmincke line and it's among my favorites, though it seems a bit warmer to me that the swatches you pulled up (this might just be my monitor settings?). either way it is a very lovely pigment. Can't wait for the next episode!
@InLiquidColor

Thanks! Yellow is super hard to display accurately across a wide number of displays, but that's probably it. I don't have Schmincke's version, but I'd be surprised if it's warmer than Daniel Smith's! :D

I was just hoping for a longer video! As complaints go this is not a severe one. I do love the way you show off the various tints or color variations, I have always thought they could be a bit larger but, no need to waste paper. I enjoy the use of an “unsung” subject for the demonstration painting, a slug no less! I am looking forward to seeing your compilation of all the selections of colors, If you need help showing us different brands please let us know we can make that happen! I am still intrigued by the use of the same name, sometimes the same pigment yet a very different color emerges in different brands! Thank you for giving us your time and expertise for this amazing series! Yeah! Denise!!

Such an amazing choice of pigments this season! I am excited for every single one! I use them all except Phthalo Green Yellow Shade, which is why that's the episode I will be most anticipating. I have no clue where or how I could use it in paintings ^_^ Wonderful video, as always.

Hansa Yellow Deep, Transparent Red Oxide, and Pthalo Green YS have been prominent in my palette for a couple years now--and recently added Holbein's single pigment pthalo turquoise, which I'm loving. Looking forward to the rest of this series! Also, hope you can manage to come back to visit the redwoods occasionally--I've spent a lot of my time this last year in the Santa Cruz mountains, and there is nothing quite like a redwood forest.

wow that's a beautiful color...kind of off-topic, but I've been trying to get back into watercolor and I've been experiencing an issue where my colors dry with a darker ring around them. I did a little digging and it seems it may be caused by using too much water. Do you think that is the case?

For me the benchmark year for the future was 2000. Thank you for making such fantastic, information rich, and beautiful videos. Hansa Yellow was almost what I got for my first artist quality paint, but instead I went with Nickel Azo Yellow by Qor, due to another video of yours. I also got Prussion Blue and Pyrrol Red by M. Grahm. Does that sound like a good warm primary to you?
@InLiquidColor
@InLiquidColor 5 жыл бұрын
Prussian is a cool blue (at least based on my perception) but indeed pyrrol red and nickle azo yellow are nice warms!
@timk.1395
@timk.1395 5 жыл бұрын
@@InLiquidColor Thank you so much. That explains why the greens I'm getting look that way. Well, now I will just get a warm blue and two cool primary colors to fill out that part of my pallet! I've decided to just pick single pigment and artist quality for my pallet and not worry about who makes it. This is so much fun! ATB Tim

Have always been grossed out by slugs but have never seen a yellow one! It's easier to look at a picture of one--not moving. Watching a real one oozing along--that's gross, like watching your own peristalsis. But yellow? That's interesting.
