Just got back from the alpine area, loved riding Colorado. I crossed Black Bear into Telluride and went to Ouray by way of Imogene. Beautiful ride on the Dr. Thanks for sharing.

Loved watching this video! You make me want a DR650 even more. I would love to explore similar trails in california where I'm from, but nothin can beat those colorado mountains. Im dying for a chance to get out to colorado one day, and hopefully on a DR.

Great looking ride broseph. Just a random tip; get up on those pegs in the more challenging sections. Being able to shift your weight left or right on a dime is hugely advantages for balance and negotiating challenging obstacles. DR for life buddy!!!

Thanks. water, electrolytes, food, and vitamins. My most recent trip was on a street bike and I went to a gym one day in the town I was passing through. That stuff is important. Thanks for the idea for the video. I will be posting a few more videos soon, so check back for those.

Amazing views! I noticed you had a previous video of the COBDR on the T7. Did you enjoy it more on the DR650?

I personally prefer the DR650. I ride all the time on my street bike, so I'm not interested in adventure style motorcycles. I prefer the more dual sport/ offroad motorcycles because of the different types of riding I like.

Do you mind if I ask about your gear? What bars do you have on the DR? New risers, too? What is your device power solution on the left-hand side of the bar? Finally, what tires were you using off road? Were they OK on the road, too? Thanks. That downhill section after Ophir...Whew! I may have had to walk it down. lol. I'm a little short for my DR, even with a custom lower seat, so I worry more about downhills. Thanks again. Great video.

ProTaper 1 1/8" bars, ProTaper risers. I don't remember where I got the 12v charger. I use Tusk DSport front tires and its great and cheap. I was using the same rear on this trip. It gives the bike a terrible wobble on the pavement. I switched to MotoZ Desert for my NM BDR trip and it was great. No more wobble. I rode it to and from central TX for that trip. Check that video out too.

Had a 2011 dr 650 bought brand new and 3rd gear failed twice was a great bike other then that shame there discontinuing the dr 650

Thanks for sharing. I did Ophir, Engineer and Cinnamon on my Africa Twin a few years ago. Going down Ophir was a bitch. How was the DR at elevation ?

Yes it is. No problems with it at all. I just rode it on a trip through New Mexico as well. 3k miles round trip. I'll post that video soon.

Thanks. Its a 9v charging port with a usb adapter. I don’t remember where I got it, but there are probably better ones available.

Thanks. It's a Garmin Zumo. Its made well and waterproof but there may be a different manufacturer with better software.

Nothing. The carb is completely stock, and I had no problems at all.

Great, no issues at all. There's a lot of misinformation that there's problems with the DR. Just leave the carb and airbox alone. Its not a race bike.

Ok, sorry but I am old... what is "BDR"? Why using so many acronyms unnecessarily these days?

Backcountry Discovery Route. Check them out on the RideBDR website. I guess you can contact the creators of the route and tell them to change the name if you feel it is unnecessary and confusing.
