Come explore Colorado's mystic San Luis Valley with Travel Video Journalist, Juliana Broste, "TravelingJules." On this action packed three-day road trip, we'll start off exploring North America's tallest sand dunes 00:33 and give sandboarding a go. Then, we'll hop aboard the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad 2:23, zigging and zagging across the state border while admiring the ever changing landscapes. I'll check out a few quirky Colorado attractions, including a visit to the UFO Watchtower 4:06 and the Colorado Gator Farm 4:57. Did you know you can handle a gator or even give gator wrestling a go? We'll finish the tour in Pagosa Springs, and take a much deserved soak in the mineral-rich waters of the Pagosa Hot Springs 6:45. All this, and more...only in Colorado!

Great video. You're a compelling hostess. I just moved down to the town of San Luis after living in Larimer and Boulder Counties for about 35 years. The San Luis Valley is an amazing part of Colorado, and the oldest. There are some other fun hot springs to visit, one not far from the alligator farm near Hooper called Sand Dunes Recreation, another up Hwy 17 near Moffat called Joyful Journey, and another in that area called Valley View. I've been to the first two (Sand Dunes Rec is family-oriented, Joyful Journey is more meditative, both are great and have camping). I haven't been to Valley View yet. It's more rustic and clothing optional. I'll wait for warmer weather. Pagosa Springs is world-class with the view over the San Juan River, but it's one of those that has the sulfur smell, which doesn't stick with you after you shower. I'm going to check out the train ride on the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. I'm glad you didn't edit the engineer say he started the day by eating a bunch of beans before getting the fire started on the locomotive. Classic stuff. Thanks again!

Uh. Hate to tell that gator dude, but alligators are NOT dinosaurs. Alligators are a completely different lineage of Archosaurs. Birds, otoh, are dinosaurs. He wants to play with dinos, he should have a bird sanctuary. Seriously though, I long to go to the San Luis Valley someday, and visit all the cool things, including the gator place. I especially want to do the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR. A nice dip, in a hot spring, also sounds like just the right way to cap it all off!
