As a Colorado Springs native, I’ve never taken for granted, nor fatigued from the amazing natural beauty packed within the apron before that majestic peak. I must say that I’m a bit possessive of my hometown and sometimes cringe when these videos are made public because of its allure. The area has experienced incredible growth over the last twenty years. Depending on which side of the fence you’re on, this growth will definitely affect what was once, paradise.

Climate In Colorado Is Also Really Nice, Dry Weather Most Of The Time, With Very Low Humidity, Sunny, Warm Weather. Nature Is Also Very Beautiful And Gorgeous There, Rocky Mountains, High Elevation. I Really Hate Rainy Weather With Very High Humidity 85-100% ( Especially on Winter Here in Eastern Europe). Colorado Has Almost Perfect Climate 🏞️☀️

I remember moving here from Grand junction CO. It was a big upgrade. It was green and summer was like spring time. I've had both good and bad memories but mostly good. Great place for kids to grow up.

Love my city, born and raised

I’ve lived here for almost a year and haven’t been to Garden of the Gods yet. I moved here from WI last year. I feel like I made a great choice in picking CO Springs. There’s a ton of opportunity for work here! Most people here complain about how expensive it is, but your working on a regular basis you’ll be fine. It’s a cool place to live. I love it so far!

About 30 years ago, Colorado Springs had barely 250,000 people in the city limits and now it’s bordering on almost a half million people. Pueblo has 115,000 people in the city limits and 185,000 in their metro area. Colorado Springs has over three quarters of a million people in the metro area. Southern Colorado alone has slightly less than a fifth of Colorado’s population.

I'm from Denver and living in the Springs. If Denver weren't so darn expensive, it would be by far the better city. Better schools, cleaner; better maintained infrastructure; etc. Fun fact, did you know that there are fewer street lights in the Springs because of copper theft when the city cut taxes to nothing? Although, the people in the Springs are nicer but, if you want nice people, you still have to go to Pueblo or West Cliff. That is where the Colorado everyone thinks about is. Except the reason it is like that is because it is so poor [for now]. Not really sure how a city with a median and average wage lower than our state minimum wage can gentrify like it is. People fail to realize that the DTC is about to be a 4 -8 hour drive [yes 8 because of construction at times]. For those in the Springs, your commute can hit 3-4 hours sometimes because, if you want a home, you will be working in Denver. We don't have a Metra or rail system like Chicago and the Northeast folks! The first thing I actually noticed moving down here, for love a few months back, was 1) a lack of grass; 2) most of the city is about to get hit with a property tax increase no one can afford 3) a lack of actual jobs that pay more than $15/hr 4) many of the neighborhoods in the south have trash everywhere [not like in Denver] 5) poorly kept trails [handrails fallen over; concrete turned to gravel] 6) the same level of homelessness [they literally camp on the unrepaired bike trails]; 7) its still pretty crowded in the backwoods because all you can really do is go to Pikes Peak. For now, just like what happened in my home cities of Denver/Englewood/Aurora, there are still some cool Mom and Pop's. The food culture is better than Denver. That will change, sadly. In Denver, prices skyrocketed, minimum wage had to increase, and all the Mom and Pop's went bust. That only took 10 years. I think it is happening faster in the Springs. Housing already shot up 3x in 3 years, booting the city off the affordable cities list in that short amount of time. The scarier part will be when people in Pueblo end up on the streets as the same thing is now starting to happen there. There is nowhere left for them to go! Also, tap fees busted $15,000 residential/ $30,500 commercial this year because we are a high mountain desert. Food for thought.
