Editors note: Edited in Davinci Resolve 16. My first attempt at color grading. Also, still trying to get my framerate and panning dialed in; I filmed mostly in 60/30p then reduced the speed by a factor of 24 for the timeline framerate… except for when I was talking that is 30p played back at 24p with dropped frames. Still have some jittery clips, but I think I’m getting better!
I used a Sony digital audio recorder for sound and think it turned out pretty well. Why? Cuz I lost my original GoPro audio adapter in a river and they have been out of stock at every major retailer for the last 6 months.
I used the DJI Ronin SC with my Panasonic G9 and either 8-18mm or 12-60mm attached. The gimbal was fantastic even without me adjusting any settings. The pan speed was a little too fast and I suggest slowing it down in the settings. Unfortunately, this gimbal and my camera was just too heavy for my style. I hiked up the 1.25mi hanging lake trail and it was an anchor compared to what I’m used to carrying (I prefer lightweight hiking). So I returned the gimbal to B&H and will replace it with the Zhiyun Crane M2 gimbal for my Panasonic LX10.
