Sandy, every time I watch you draw and color I am just mesmerized. How you can take a plain white paper and turn it into something beautiful is just amazing. I don't have the knowledge or skill to draw or paint very well, but I just love to sit back, relax and watch you do it. It is so comforting. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Sandy... first let me say my dad, one of his brothers and my daughter are the true artists in my family. My hubby doodles, my brother can draw and my mom loves to trace & paint someone else’s drawings. She doesn’t like designing her own paintings. And little old me... well I tell people when they see my daughter’s artwork... “Umm any real art techniques skipped my generation. I can’t even draw a straight line with a ruler!” Which isn’t true about skipping my generation due to my brother and several first cousins can draw. But I completely enjoyed this video on hacks!!! And the best part is your gorgeous drawing at the end... it gave me the confidence to actually try some of my own drawings in my card making. Yes I did get my family’s creative gene... but drawing has always been very very difficult for me. I quit trying to “draw” after 5th grade. So thank you for making this video! I hope one day my handsome little grandson (3 yrs) and my gorgeous new little granddaughter (2 months old) will have the family creative gene & I’ll be able to teach them what I know! It is currently 12:50 am here in Houston and I’m itching to get to my craft table. Thanks again Sandy! Stay safe out there!

What an awesome piece of art! I was in Israel about 13 years ago. Hard to believe that the trees that were there were there when Jesus was praying. TFS all your talents - so relaxing and amazing to watch you create art. Our church members are working (at home) on thank you cards to hand out to hospital staff. I'm making up the packets so they can just assemble at home. Feels like we're helping in bit, when I feel so helpless to do much else. Have a blessed holy weekend!

I have never seen powdered pencil colouring before and was very intrigued by it. The final picture was stunning. Loved the colours you used to. The whole process was just wonderful to watch. Thanks Sandy and have a Blessed Resurrection Sunday.

Those blending stumps, if you twist it at the top before taping closed you can make it as tight as you want and without air-pockets. This is a great video. Thank you Sandy. God bless you and Happy Easter.

I didn’t find that worked but I’m glad it did for you. Apparently this was way harder for me than all the “easy” tutorials 😂

Try holding the tip with a pair of tweezers and twist. For it to be effective you have to make the blender thick. Another tip is to fold the paper in half at the beginning to increase its thickness before rolling. I hope it makes sense.

Just lovely. Thank you for the Easter gift. Well you know. When ever you actually pullout your talents and put them on full display I’m grateful you do it and I wonder why those guys up in Seattle don’t have your art on their gallery walls. I walked through them when I was up there. Always in search of the pirate mans work🤣. You belong. Grateful you’ve taken the time to bring us along your journey lady!!! Where ever it goes and sharing your knowledge. Happy Easter and stay safe!!

Love your painting very much, Sandy and how sweet that you've been where our Lord has walked before! Your hacks are great and I'm sure they will benefit so many CP artists. Please be sure to note to your viewers regarding the use of the baby oil with CP and one's intent for the painting ... the baby oil is not archival and may also reduce the archival quality of the substrate used.

The tea strainer & blending is amazing! Using it as an underpainting could save a lot of time while using colored pencils. Do you ever use watercolor for an underpainting? If so, any tips? It's my next technique to try!

Lovely & the hacks are cool. Another oil you can try is mineral oil, trade name Nujol, which is available at the drug store. I use it to oil my wooden cutting boards since it is food grade & non nutritive aka nothing will grow on it. I hate to think what might happen if you used olive oil on a card. Ewwww
