Do you realize this is a masterpiece figure? It's meant to be sold to more adult collectors and supposed to be maid with a higher budget. This figure isn't nowhere near the masterpiece title.

While I understand that the term Masterpiece carries a lot of weight, I feel that we have different criteria in mind when we consider that title. I personally value a smooth, engaging transformation when it comes to Masterpieces, and I might be willing to sacrifice a small amount of accuracy for that. Freedom Leader is a fantastic figure, but I would likely be afraid of pieces snapping off during the transformation. That's a big reason why I don't think that the hate is deserved, as the design is highly subjective. There will always be people who prefer MP-05 to MP-36. My opinion is something that, while maybe not popular, is never going to be objective fact. I just think the trukk robot looks neat.

Not to mention that MPM-12 here was actually on a budget. Bayverse Masterpiece figures are being made more affordable, with MPM-12 being under $200. They had a smaller budget to work with, rather than the budget with the likes of MPM-11 and MPM-10. and like you said, they have to adhere to safety guidelines since these do go to retail, mainly at stores such as "Toys R Us".

Agreed. Perhaps I'd treated MPM-12 too harshly upon release... looking back on it after all this time it _is_ a perfectly serviceable figure of BB Optimus Prime. It _does_ still suffer from some issues like proportions and some missing paint apps, but honestly it largely does what it sets out to do. And the allocation of kibble like the rotation and inversion of the front bumper/grill/headlights into the back panel is pretty intuitive and impressive on their part. I still don't think I would get this as is, because the DNA upgrade kit _does_ fix a lot of what I don't like/nitpick about MPM-12, but as a whole not too shabby, HasTak. Not too shabby...

@Tayyaba Zahid Peter Cullen pretty much got *SCREWED* over after the Bumble Bee movie, and he isn't asked to play Optimus Prime that much anymore.

The individuals responsible for Peter’s unfair treatment were absolutely in the wrong; however, the creative teams of the Bumblebee movie, as well as of Hasbro and Takara, almost certainly had nothing to do with it, and I personally believe their work can still be enjoyed.

Freedom leader REALLY frustrating to transform. Unclear instructions + bizarre tolerances + a chest that on a bunch of samples, must be stowed differently than shown for the robot mode to work = a weak feeling figure. It looks pretty and handles nicely, but that's about it. This has a bad looking truck mode, but, as long as the price isn't too ridiculously high, has a satisfying transformation a great robot mode.

@@maxmocs5008 A satysfying transformation isn't worth the sacrifice of a decent robot but a ugly mess of the vehicle mode, specially if it has the "Masterpiece" name. A Masterpiece can have a complex transformation that doesn't have to be frustrating but this is not just easy but also lazy engineering. If I want a good looking figure with an easy transformation I'd just buy the Studio Series Prime.

@@razorshark6790 I think it might be more to do with the fact that the movie came out at the same time as a lot of other big movies. Think about what else came out of the end of 2018. Aqua man, spiderverse and Marry popins returns. All 4 movies came out within weeks of each other.

@@johnfrancomiguelfernandez4811 I already checked it out, a buddy of mine has him, not a bad looking figure but due to the joints being friction joints and some really tiny ball joints (especially in the hands) for me its a pass, but hey if you enjoy TW Prime that's great and good for you but for me I'll pass
