Green stuff world makes a 2 part epoxy known by the brand name green stuff. Paints are a fairly new thing for them. Great vid btw ❤

Removing the original color scheme was the right move. The final version turned out really cool!!! Another cool idea outside the box. Great job

Way to turn a mistake into a success. Very cool! Thank you for making these videos and showing the process. Where did you learn the basics of doing these?

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I learned the basics from experimenting with a sandblaster :) A happy accident as Bob Ross used to say :D

I may be totally wrong but I think these "interference" paints have some sort of suspended mica powder that creates that effect, different colors at different incidence angles. I wonder if the effect is better on the "top" of the paint, that is the part seen from the back. As opposed to the "bottom", the part facing the glass? I think it has something to do with the particles floating to the top, which is not going to be the part against the glass, I hope this makes sense. I have a similar problem when I make my own animation cels, I paint them on the back of a sheet of glass and some colors and paint types will look great from the back but when you flip them over to check the front they have developed a weird pattern against the glass. Just the way the paint "settles" I guess.

I've used chameleon powders much like these paints with epoxy resin in wood carvings with a decent degree of success. As I understand it they work through thin-film interference. That is, you have some light that bounces of the surface and some that partly penetrates the paint and then bounces. Essentially the same effect as the rainbow colour on a soap bubble. Glass has thin-film properties of its own and will have a different angle for the effect. In theory paints could probably be developed to work behind glass, but that seems like an extremely niche product. Resin with mica powders is pretty cool, but I don't think it has an awful lot of scope to combine with reverse glass work.

I think It worked the other way round. Like the mica sank to the bottom meaning the colour changing properties weren't visible on the back side of the mirror. I'm definitely going to experiment more :)
