Those 5 heartline rolls at the end are insane! I live in the UK & to my eternal shame have never been to Thorpe Park. Seeing this ride, has convinced me to go.

This ride gave me a massive headache because of how ricketty and old it is. I recommend sticking your head back as much as you can in between the restraints else you'll have a massive pain!

As someone who is scared of roller coasters, I decided to face this fear and went on this ride on my birthday, my god it was so frightening and my head was banging against the seat barrier but luckily I didn't get a headache or any other injuries just a few small tears and me laughing at myself. I definitely agree it was rough as I was in the back area

That barrel roll sequence is insane.

Extremely similar to the fairly recently opened Altair in Cinecittà World. It also features 10 inversions, which is the 2nd highest amount. Went on it about a week ago and enjoyed it very much! Didn’t know there already was a 10 inversion coaster back then!

I thought Colossus was noisy due to its age, but it appears that it has always been noisy! Thorpe Park looks so different today... it's incredible how much it has changed over a decade!

All my life I was afraid of going on a looped rollercoaster, somehow I was convinced today to go on this one(10 loops-), and it was actually really fun!, highly recommend :D

Okay... that corkscrew tunnel was seriously the coolest idea ever, and that camera shot you had on it was even cooler. This is an excellent roller coaster, looks like it would be one of my favorite. Pretty easy to see where you had the camera to get that first shot of the 'tunnel' too. These old videos are great, why were you hiding this one from 2003? haha.

This makes me so exited because I'm going there in May!

The main manufacturer, Intamin, worked with various subcontractors such as Schwarzkopf and Waagner-Biro, but the most notable of them was Giovanola. Giovanola helped Intamin design Monte Makaya at Rio de Janerio’s Terra Encantada, and Monte Makaya was the first of its kind. I can't wait to go on Tuesday (14th April)! Second time going definitely will go on colossus again but not queue especially for the front again... Took a extra 45 minutes. But it was really good at the front as it was much more smooth. :)

Literally one of my fav rides there, but be careful of you back because I don’t know how but I must have sat weirdly and when we went upside down the last few times my back was rubbing and banging really hard against the seat and hurt for ages. I highly doubt that will happen but just a warning

There's this cool ride at Chessington World Of Adventures called the Vampire, and it isn't the biggest ever but it got a lot of screams out of me lol!

This ride can be pretty rough but I feel if you sit at front it's not that bad, also saw is rougher I think

Surely one of the greatest rollers of all time.... the corkscrew just goes on and on and on.... and the rest of the ride is seriously big, fast and scary. Remember going to Thorpe Park a couple of times in the last decade and while they had new attractions like 'SAW' (vertical drop) and 'STEALTH' - super-fast vertical up and down.... STEALTH was shit scary but lasted a few seconds, once you've done it there's nothing else, just acceleration and deceleration (and height) but only for a fraction of time - 5 seconds, if that. Worth experiencing, but not repeating. Went back for another one - and then another again - on COLOSSUS. That's a proper, fast, long-lasting monster of a ride with a lot of different experiences to it. A classic.

Such a good video. Can't believe this video was filmed 11 years ago, and the ride is 13 years old! Haven't been on it since last year, hopefully going to Thorpe Park soon, after my broken arm recovers:)

I went on this so fun but really rough at back and front

I find it interesting to see the metal bars and that in place, to do with people being able to get their legs out, so it was the quickest way to fix it and keep it running until new restraints were fitted in the winter, but out of curiosity how did boarding and the overall ride feel different with the original overhead restraints or with the metal bars, as im guessing the restraints were smaller and used to allow people to get across the rows more easily when boarding?

I know it's not always as easy as installing new trains but surely TP need to address how horribly shaky and rough this ride has got. It's really hard to enjoy it anymore, even at the front there's a fair bit of headbanging.

Don't go on this if you're small - it's pretty rough and when I first went on it i was only 11. I got a headache from it. It's not scary though, but it makes you dizzy when you do the twists.

That ride makes me think of smiler in a way 1 coz there's loads of loops and 2 it's like 2 mins long like woahhhh

This ride is not rough enough to cause a headache. The most you'll get is some bruised ears if you go right at the back

There's a roller coaster in China and in Brazil with exactly the same trajectory, the only difference that in Brazil was the first made of this kinda of roller coaster by this company, and had only 8 inversions. Tha amusement park where this one is, is closed nowadays.

This coaster is REALLY rough but not the worst I've been on.

Colossus is tame by today standards.

boi i fainted on this i am 1.5m even if the requirement id 1.4 at 1.5 i was banging my head all over the place . the spiral part felt like i was dropping out of my seat. I would only recommend this to true thrill seekers . I would recommend nemesis inferno though.
