@@mofalkmusic for the same reason that dubstep has been in a very stale period for a long long time, everybody sounds exactly the same. Think about what happened when VR revealed pitchmap. Pitchmap itself is an absolutely ancient plugin, but 99% of color bass kids know it exists now and therefore abuse overuse it to no end. Styles and subgenres lose all sense of ingenuity they used to have.

sure am late to the party here, but I appreciate how concise and transparent this tutorial is! My usual technique has been to vocode some harsh bass layers to the chords and then run them through a resonator, and top it with a sub bass and a house clap, but it often gets messy and hard to keep track of 😆

Thanks! Three questions all regarding the color layer: 1) Where does the "reverb swell" type effect come from at 1:44? 2) Where does the low end come from during the same convolution reverb part of the video? 3) Where is the wavetable you're using for the Color layer come from?
