Psa makes f marked front sight bases still. Having said that you should look into put a retro car15 adjustable stock on there with the 6 position tube. I have one on my A2 dissipater and it’s pretty sexy and very usable. I have a A2 stock and A1 stock and those old A1 triangle front heat shields guards that I’m thinking about putting on.

I bought one of these just over 3 years ago, nothing but a sling a carry handle and a white light. I can knock steel at 500 yards with her easy peazy no matter if its 55 grain wolf or 62 grain hornady black or 77 grain whatever. Just over 2k rounds through it over half of that steel back before covid when prices were still normal, never had a malfunction. This is the rifle that really got me into "long" range irons shooting, I love it. Speaking of hunting I cant speak on deer but this is my coyote gun and it knocks the shit out of them, I would use it on a reasonably sized deer within 500 yards all day. Though I would put an optic on for that purpose for ethical reasons lol

Super nice set up! I have a new colt AR15a4 myself. I just ordered an A1 stock, and changed my grip also. Wish I can afford an ACOG. Also can’t find a M5 RAS.

Larue Tactical now sells a mount specifically for the A4 with A2 stock. Sets the eye relief perfectly. Lever quick release and return to zero mount. Recommend the Knights Armament M5 rail as well. I also use the ACOG RCO A4CP.

That is a sharp rifle. The ACOG looks good. I think I will try a Primary Arms prism sight on mine. Price and eye relief being the selling points.

For the last 20 years or thereabouts I have been shooting a match conditioned AR-15 A2 in NRA and CMP governed Service Rifle Competition. I recently rebuilt it changing out the fixed carry handle for a flattop. To accommodate my barrel’s A2 barrel extension, as well as A2 front sight base I ordered the flattop upper sans feed ramps and I ordered a commercial carry handle which is .040 lower than mil spec detachable carry handle. At any rate, I put the thing together but, at the time, I could not get any sort of .223 ammunition locally or on line. This was a problem since my barrel has a match .223 chamber thus readily available 5.56 was not at all an ideal solution. So I bought another flattop barreled upper, an FN-15 along with a mil-spec carry handle. I am somewhat disappointed in accuracy. With the irons fitted with an .039 aperture and Winchester M855 I am only getting about 2MOA 5 shot groupings at 100 yards, while the other match conditioned gun, shooting 55 grain Winchester .223, what little I’ve found, is getting 5 shot groupings in the 1 MOA arena. The bottom line is I hope .223 in regular as well as match loadings becomes available again but while it’s not I now have the 5.56 FN-15 barreled upper which will suffice for most any need I can perceive except Service Rifle Competition. I find it interesting that your Colt is getting under 2 MOA groupings. I have had a few HBAR National Match AR’s that could do that.

I have got a 20 inch upper that's a colt got it last year. Don't know if it an a3 or what it is. But got it slapped on a bcm lower and it's a tack driver. Runs good

Interesting. Bought mine new in 2017, front sight F marked, and upper receiver C marked. And yes, m4 feed ramps. If you look closely at the front of of the upper just under the the picatinny rail and above the delta ring, it’s marked m4. AND-the pony APPEARS to be roll marked,very slightly lighter at the right side, where it says A4.

They are nice weapons. I have one with an FN upper running a fail zero bolt group, PSA M16A4 Property of US Government lower, nickel boron polished fire control group, A1 length stock ( modern) with the sling attachment that can be adjusted to the side with M16A1 steel trap door, front sling attachment USGI side sling swivel that clamps to the FSB. optics are sig Sauer Romeo and Juliet combo. then I have my model 601 clone my M16A1 clone... there's really no end to it it's like an affliction 😁.
