You and I may be the only two that feel that way. You’re right it’s an excellent pistol in my opinion. To me it has half the recoil of the defender too.

Thank you bud. I was the same way man. I think there is definitely something about 4” or more on barrel length for 1911s. I dont think colt and a lot of other companies are building firearms like they used to. I think there are a lot of companies that are living off their name. Thanks for watching bud.

Yah I had twelve mags out there with me. They were all officers frame mags from wilson, nighthawk, and colt. I ran all the same mags through my nighthawk and Wilson CCOs with zero issues. I had shot a total of 450 rounds with it slowly getting worse. The ejection pattern was way off normal so I tuned the extractor and that helped that issue the next morning but didn’t help with the failure to feed issue.

Maybe just a little bit it’s so little it’s hard to notice unless you’re looking for it. Hope This helps bud. It’s a great gun.

It did already. 😂 you know me. If they don’t function there’s no place in my rotation for them. I picked up a HK45ct.

The 30s is a fantastic pistol. With that being said it is thick for carry but always works. The shield 45 is an excellent pistol that always works too and for whatever magic smith and Wesson did on it makes it recoil like a 9mm. The 30s is a lot snappier than the shield45. The shield 45 is thinner, lighter, 6-7 rounds and recoils less. If I wasn’t going to be around mud and water much I would choose the shield. But the way I fish if I take a 45 it’s normally the 30 mainly because it is easier to clean for me if I fully submerge it (myself actually). Lol I fish a lot of backwoods creeks where people normally don’t go. The fact of having a 13 round backup mag from the glock 21 helps too when I’m way out there. Colts are beautiful and shoot great when the barrel length is 4” or longer. I haven’t had very good luck with under 4” in 1911s. Plastics don’t seem to have issues there though. That’s why i prefer plastics for carry. Hope this helps.

Thanks man. It’s either 10” or 12”. I’m pretty it is 12” though. I’ve had it a long time. I love shooting 100 yards like that man. It makes shooting 30 yards seem like a breeze.

@livennick9 I shot a target with my glock 34 at 200 yards but it was with an RMR and about 5-10 shots later haha

Kinda what I thought but after the other 14 I tried I decided it wasn’t the mags. I had Wilson’s, nighthawks, and colts. All mags jammed at one time or another with the colt. Sucks but it is what it is.

Thank you bud. I’m right there with you on needing to find a cheaper hobby. Between fishing and this I eat a lot of peanut butter samiches. 😆. I’ve actually toyed with getting a glock 29 here lately. I have a 20 just not a 29. Or a glock model 40. That seems like a person could milk all the goody out of the ten with that one.
