I bleed all my shads immediately after unhooking. The meat tastes much better with the blood drained.

Yes, agree! I would do the same if I plan to eat them. These guys will go to the freezer for crab baits 😄

Oregon or Washington basic fishing license depends on where side you are fishing from. That’s pretty much it

You just need the state basic fishing license to fish for Shad, for the state that you be fishing from.
