A US infantry and Engineer Platoon is isolated on the outset of the Cold War. They 20km from the nearest friendly forces and facing ever growing Soviet forces, they must attempt to exfiltrate themselves from the frontline in the "Fleeing Altdorf" scenario from Combat Mission: Cold War.
Combat Mission Cold War is set in the tipping-point years of a conflict that gripped the world for 45 years. Between 1979-1982, both the NATO and Soviet Warsaw Pact militaries began the shift away from industrialized warfare of the early 20th century and towards the modern digital battlefield of today.

I also enjoyed this scenario. I did think it a little cheeky on the part of the designers that they don't give you the locations of the units you are engaged with right at the start. I would think my troops would have that knowledge. The first break of contact is already hairy enough without that added layer of blindness. Don't forget your smoke grenades! They're really useful for crossing exposed gaps and streets.

@@Requin87 LOL that's because people always complain that AI is too easy. Wrong, as a scenario designer myself (GhostRider3/3 on the forum) you can make them very very hard and dynamic. It's just how much time the designer took in planning the AI, and how many plans are given. Great stuff though Requin87, been watching your vids for quite a while now. Always First class presentation. Cheers! PS: Depending on the scenario, I usually give some kind of Intel.

@@JuergenGDB Appreciated the kind feedback! I get the limitations on AI and the need to give them some kind of edge to make it a challenge for the player - it's the same in most strategy games. We should probably count it as a god thing that we can still strategically outthink computers. I'll have to keep a closer eye on who's designed which scenario now that I know who to complain to :-p

The first couple of minutes... FIRE like your lives depended on it! Lots of rounds exchanging. Looks like that RPG round at 18:35 looks very high over the tops of the building. Looks like the Russkies are deep in that town.

I missed that spot at the time. I assumed there would be some kind of Russian force towards the exit point but this would have been good confirmation.

@@Requin87 I basically keep getting a draw. Too many bloody casualties. Maybe a 3rd time will be different. Its a bloody mess.
