Literally the best and most beautiful ropeway in history... if there's only one ropeway I can ever save it must be Combe Des Juments... It's FAR MORE than way too valuable to be scrapped... it is the MOST BEAUTIFUL ROPEWAY IN HISTORY, without a doubt... All Hail King/Queen/Overlord Combe des Juments!

I've told you about this chairlift before... it is the only surviving Poma Type S detachable chairlift and 2-CLD in France. And it is the most alpine, simple, mechanically beautiful and baroque and rare chairlift existing today in simplicity, and forever in ropeway history! All Hail Combe des Juments the Ropeway Overlord!

While I myself, too, have recorded this chairlift, I can't describe how much it means to me that foreigners to France such as yourself have now found out the existence of this chairlift and filmed it. This is my absolute favourite chairlift of all time ever. 1950's - 1982 Poma chairlifts always had an absolutely beautiful, retro, baroque-ish appearance in literally every single aspect. The chairs were beautifully designed in appearance, as were the mechanics too, which are almost as simple as simple can be pretty much. I can't really describe the beauty of the Poma Type S "Sacmi" detachable ropeways they are THAT beautiful. I myself grew up with the prototype Type S in Val D'Isere, the original La Daille gondola lift built in 1966 and mercilessly murdered by a communist modern 10-MGD in 2018. Many Type S's were made and most of them were gondolas. Around 50 or so from 1966 up until 1982. The grip on the other hand was continued on the later 1980's systems until 1986. As for the Type S detachable chairlifts, not many were made, only around 20 or less and 3 were in La Clusaz. Most of them were replaced ages ago in the 20th century, leaving the Molanes and Clos Bertrand chairlifts in the Espace Lumiere(both built 1975, scrapped in 2009 and 2013) and the 3 chairlifts here in La Clusaz: Cret du Loup, 1979 - 2012, Cret du Merle the world's first 3-passenger chairlift, 1974 - 2017, and finally this chairlift. 42 years old and still hasn't been murdered by modern lifts. A replacement will apparently appear in 2025 as far as I've heard and I jolly well hope that if there is indeed a replacement coming, it be in that year or later. If there ever appears to only be JUST ONE CHAIRLIFT OR ROPEWAY THAT I CAN SAVE FROM SCRAP, IT MUST BE COMBE DES JUMENTS. Poma Type S ropeways are the most beautiful ropeways in history in my opinion pretty much because of how beautiful all of their mechanical parts look, they just look so baroque and old fashioned and retro and really remind me of the times when ski resorts were far happier places than they were when they were assaulted by modern 10-MGD's and 6/8-CLD's. Of the many Poma Type S ropeways built, around 14 or so gondolas survive and just Combe Des Juments survives and is the last built out of the few chairlifts they made of the Sacmi/Type S system, as is Combe Des Juments the last ever 2-CLD in France. Just the absolute most alpine, most purely french, most rare, and most absolutely mechanically beautiful chairlift ever made and I damn well wish to own it if and when it does get replaced by a modern pile of scrap ropeway. #AllHailCombeDesJuments #NeverDestroyCombeDesJuments #IfTheresOnlyOneRopewayThatCanBeSavedItMustBeKingCombeDesJuments #CombeDesJumentsIsTheRopewayOverlordWithTheGiovanolasAndPomaTypeSacmiRopeways #CombeDesJumentsWillNeverBeScrappedOrDestroyed #ForeverWillCombeDesJumentsExistLiveAndReignAsTheRopewayOverlord ALL HAIL. I've known about this ropeway for years, and rode it back in January 2020, it is my favourite ropeway of all time. Combe des Juments is the absolute king and overlord of the Ropeways. Most Poma type S "Sacmi" ropeways were built as gondolas and around 50 or so were made from 1966 until 1982. Today 14 survive in France with several more in Iran. As for the chairlifts on the other hand, few were built and only Combe des Juments survives. And oh lord, it is the most beautiful ropeway in existence. All of that beautifully painted solidly cast vintage-looking metalwork, those baroque and retro chairs, and oh man... many, many more beautiful things about it. I'll never let it be scrapped... NEVER. If they do I'd probably do something absolutely outrageous and totally illegal to make up for such a heinous crime against the King of Ropeways(Koenig der Seilbahnen) that I'll never want nor allow to happen without SERIOUS PUNISHMENT... EVER...
