That sounds like all the problems I have with my Splitty, speedo jumping, gearbox hard work, etc etc etc so looking forward to seeing your progress and if I cannot fix it my self I might have to book it in for some TLC 😀

n/s engine bay hindge needs adjusting /looking at as well . i know it is realy common for thease old buses to have a gear change that is very sloppy , just changing the selector rod bushes wont make much difference , thats why most splitty's have empi short shift gear sticks [ i[f that is still a thing you can get nowadays ] i have been out of the vw sceene for a long time now , but years ago i would have used a girling powerstop remote servo you can litraly mount them anywhere you like under the bus [ i don't even know if you can get them nowadays ] . looks a nice bus :) i would like to see the vid of how your engine tuner cures the flat spot on the carb ! that solex carb looks like a replacment carb [ and i was never happy with any i ever fitted they just did not ever work like an original carb ]
