Very rare and probably a lot cheaper than you would think. These are straight up barn finds that are resurrected and probably even free for them to aquire.

I find it crazy interesting that a lot of my new subscribers are from SE Asia. Never thought combines were used there! This video has gone almost viral! Over 12k views in 1 week!

Epic seeing those old combines get a last chance! Wondering on what modifications if any are allowed to compete? Most of them seem to be standard config minus few bits on the header etc. Thanks for the upload

True that! Combine derbies are the most rarest event you'd get to watch. It's a sight to see! Yes, the builds are stock for the most part. Not sure what else they let them get away with, maybe tubed tires etc.

I cease to understand why these are so painful to watch. Wait, I remember... I'm a 3rd generation farmer running equipment from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, and no combine. I'll admit these are fun to watch.

People also say the same thing about cars or trucks. If theres no demand for them and they arent totally operational, then why not? Farms are going out of business and disappearing which is very sad.

Great to see that old iron get used before the scrap bin. To everyone saying that those combines should have been donated to a farmer in need..... A farmer couldn't afford to run those even if they tried, parts are outdated and the newer machines can produce more yield per acre then those old basterds.

The “new” machines are 500,000 and a used 6620 is still 24,000 in 2001 so ya those combines could still be used

What makes you think that these are "perfectly good"? Do you ask the same about all the cars and trucks that get derbied?

@@reemyerschneider all those combines were in good condition before the derby started, they could have been used for their original purpose of harvesting

Do you have any idea how many farms go out of business every year? Just because they can move does not necessarily mean all of the more complicated components internally regarding the collection systems may very well not be functional anymore. You don't know what's wrong with them.

How? Do you have any idea just how much it costs to send a 40ft cargo container overseas? Not that one would fit into it anyways. Didnt know it's a broke and out of business farmers responsibility to get one to another poor farmer. It takes perspective to see this.

Lol a farmer in need... You give a farmer one of those old fucking things and he'll be in worse shape. spend more money fixing it than it's worth just to keep it going for the year. Then it breaks down can't get the crop in and can't pay a custom harvester to do it bc he spent all his money on a worn out piece of shit. and he loses all his crop. Now he's got no money and no crop... But he got that free combine!!!

Nothing against you but this is stupid. I get they're small and old, but they never consider the wild idea someone would, oh, I don't know, want one? I don't care if the straw walkers are worn of somethin, it's a massive waste. These old masseys and deeres were once someones biggest piece of equipment. Imagine the hours of operation. I hope that the combine in my profile picture, my great grampa's 300, didn't meet a fate like this!

Read other comments. People say the same about cars. Hey, its a sport. It obviously comes down to efficiency and cost. Think of it this way, during the 1940s almost ALL used tractors were bought by the US government to melt em down to build tanks.
