I had no trouble getting these set up and they are fantastic. Don't forget, if you create a room grouping (eg including a lamp and TV etc), you can just ask google to turn off that room, like "turn off living room". You won't need to turn them off separately if you want them all off. Good luck!

I have to say Brett, you're a lifesaver, your videos really do help and they probably help way more people than you think. I've been a Google home user since I discovered it was the only assistant that understood my stutter, so now my house has 8 homes/minis and a ton of smart lights and outlets, and Everytime someone in the house needs to know how to use the Google home better I simply ask "hey Google, watch Tech with Brett on KZfaq" lol thanks man

I love my gadgets and your video has been a tremendous help to a 70-year-old child at least that what my son calls me lol. Good share mate. The "sync my light command" is a real time saver i did not know existed!! I'm struggling with a few features with the smart life app, maybe you found ways to solve. 1) were you able to put different device types in groups? Some of my rooms have a mix of RGB Bulbs and Wifi Outlets. Other have RGB Bulbs mixed with LED strips.. I can't figure out how to make the whole room be in the same group. 2) were you able to create a scene where you could select color and intensity of the lights that are in a room?

Thanks Brett! I bought a Emerson Smart Dehumidifier and could not add the google home to the app. Helpline from them was of no use. After I watched the video today, everything is now linked. The Dehumidifier has a separate Smart Life app, and it shows humidity, on/off, outside temperature, Outdoor air pressure, whether air outside is moist or dry, BUT the app won't send you a notification that the bucket is full. That seems silly that the one important thing that the app should do is alert you that the bucket is full and needs to be emptied.

Great info! Thanks Issue: I cant find way to automate a color in a color bulb using Smart Life. It only will bring up the last color used when setting "color mode" in the automate routine. Then I could say, "chill" & have all lights go pink at 10%. This is the whole purpose for having color bulbs & they don't support this.

Very useful video. Can you please advise on the following. When I initially registered for Smart Life it only allows an email as a userid. However when I link Smartlife under Google Home it only allows a cell phone number so I cannot link it to all the Smart Life devices. Many thanks

Hey man! Thank you for the video it was extremely helpfull, i added my devices to google home but when i ask google to “turn living room lights off” it says that the devices hasnt been set up, i mean i can turn the lights on ans off from the google app if i press the on/off button it just doesnt let me do it with the voice commande, any suggestions?

So I got a couple outlet plugs, signed up on the Smart Life App, got everything hooked up. Went to add the Smart Life to my Google App and when I put the ID and PW in it, the Smart Life App keeps saying invalid ID or PW. I only have a Google Home Mini. Do I need the Hub to sync the app?

I could not find the Smart Life app on Google Assistant......but as soon as you said you can use Tuya Smart app....Dude.... you saved me so much pain and aggravation. Everything is synced up. Not sure why Google Assistant does not show the Smart Life app like it did when I first set it up. Anyway problem solved. Thank you!!1

Thank you for making this video and sharing the integration of the app. One issue i have is that many videos and websites that mention this app only tend to use smart plugs. I clicked on the link and i saw you have many other compatible products, but in the application there are many other devices that can be connected to the app, such as security cameras, door locks, washing machines, and many more. Is there anywhere a comprehended list of the products available or is it just buying something and trying it out to see if it works. For example, i bought a Merkury smart plug for $3 and it works with the app. I also bought a standalone Night Owl security camera that is not supported. Any help?

Hey Brett, Thank you for the great videos! Question: I have bought several of the Iselector WiFi smart plugs and I want to be able to use it to control my Led tv and my cable box, I have them connected to Alexa and she turns the tv on and off no problem. What is happening is the tv itself does not come on even though I leave it in the on mode for the commands. Thank you

It works well and was easy to set up, but it's like hunting for a needle in a haystack to find more devices to use with it. Awesome, thanks! I was looking for outlet adapters that aren't round, since the round ones I have take up two plug spaces because of their size. I also wanted to find some switches to convert overhead lights, some of which are dimmable. Looks like your list has both! I'll definitely check those out. Thanks for your help!

Any product that is compatible with the Tuya platform is supported.

@@Regina_M not really but have come to find out that the applications smartlife tuya and blitzwolf are compatible to each other, so whenever you are trying to find a device compatible to smartlife you have to look for the specs and see on of the 3 applications i mentioned before. the smartlife sensors family is getting bigger and bigger everyday so its easier to find sensors now than it was 6 months ago. the brands gocomma and blitzwolf have some sensors-sockets-cameras that work with smartlife so you can have a look on their products to find compatible devices

When you have a smart plug working with the mfg app and you go through the config process by holding the button so Smart Life will find that smart plug, will the original mfg app still work exactly the same? I am concerned by pressing the button on the smart plug it will loose its association with the original mfg app and no longer work. Please advise, thanks

Hey Bret great channel I get a lot out of your videos. I don't mean to be a buzzkill. I see you using a lot of different devises to accomplish a smarter home experience. Hey Brett, love your videos. No matter what I do, when I click "add device" in Google Home iOS, it says that generic screen that normally displays when setting up a chromecast the first time... "your device has setup a temporary network... join it to setup the chromecast". I've tried to find every menu and dropdown and icon and it just doesn't exist as far as i know. Any help greatly appreciated out there for iOS users!

That is bizarre. This is under the Home Control settings correct? Try rebooting your phone or uninstalling the app and trying again.

I bought smart colour lights that have a preset with different colour scenes, like changing different colours constantly (disco mode). You can only see these scenes in smart life app but not in google home. How can I get assistant to turn on the lights with these scenes? Is there a way to make assistant recognize the smart life different automations?

Tech with Brett: Good video, except that there are multiple apps in the play store called Smart Life. Is it the "Smart Life -Smart Living" app from Tuya. It has only a 3.6 point rating and a lot or recent negative user reviews fpr the US version.

Ok, So I watched several times... I have some lights already on the Smart Life app that work fine, but I also have 6 other apps that I use for everything else! I just tried everything I could to connect 1 of my ITead / Sonoff, Power Outlets to the Smart Life App, but no luck! Are they not compatible? (The outlet was showing up as an available Wifi etc. and it works fine on the eWeLink App, so the device is fine. Any advice?

Trying to find out why different brands of bulbs have varying user interfaces and functionality within the Smart Life app. Consequently, this varying functionality seems to be limiting Google Assistant's ability to control groups bulbs in a single room. For example, we have two bedside lamps, and a ceiling fan light for a total of 5 RGBW bulbs (2 brands/interfaces) in 3 light fixtures. It seems now Google can only turn ON or OFF, but cannot "set scenes" with changing colors (moods). The "Scene" can only be executed through the SL app. Am I doing something wrong?

Emerson Quiet Kool Dehumidifier has WiFi that is a Smart Life device and is supposed to be compatible with Alexa and google assistant. I was able to get it integrated with Alexa, but so far no luck with google assistant. Problem is mostly getting the Emerson to find the dehumidifier device when using the smart life app directions for being discovered for google home. Very hard to link the smart life app and google assistant.

Name them "lamp x" and "lamp y" or something like that. If you tell Google to change the light to "blue" they now will both turn blue at the same time

You should Make a Video showing how to connect these products when you can't manually select your wifi frequency. I have google wifi that doesn't allow you to switch between 2.4 & 5Ghz and you have to go into the Compatibility Mode to connect these devices.

No, it's done within the smart life app itself. I think they have done that for people that have routers that broadcast the same SSID for both 2.4 & 5Ghz wifi and you can't manually select the network to join

Brett, not sure if you know why this is happening but when I linked my Smart Life app to my google home to make it work I have to say "Hey Google connect to smart Life" after if says welcome to Smart Life I can say turn off bedroom light. Hi, I have a problem with ewelink working with Google home. Now I have one divide that uses the smart Life app. I love this app and it works great and also with Google home with no problems. But now I want other products that work with it like lights witches for EU and single power switch or something that you can build in like the sonoff switches. Do you know where to get them? I can't find products that work with it and I see that you have some off them.

So what products works with this app? Is there a list somewhere or which protocol does it use? IFTTT, ZigBee, Zwave? Or if I go to Amazon, I enter a search for "Smart Life" will it return all the devices that is supported by the "Smart Life" app?

+Almon Dao Searching through Amazon might be the best option. Most of the Amazon products that connection with Smart Life are pretty similar they are just branded different. They are WiFi compatible so no hub required.

Tech With Brett its the same thing as liftmaster or a couple others.
