What's also cool, using my GP/DI into IR's, is using the cab sim as an extra eq. Can be quite useful to engage it into the IR for a bit more tone shaping.

The IR will have a slight delay too. Would explain the big sound, plus total difference.

if you panned both signals to the same spot, how many samples would the nanalog sim have to be moved forward TIA

Are Fryette ever going to sell the IR’s as an IR pack? I really want a Fryette/Fane F70 IR since I have a Fattbottom P50E IR pack and really want a Fane one to go with it. The F70s in my cab are my favorite speakers but micing up my cab at home for recording isn’t realistic.

Almost certainly going to buy one. My question is, does it make a decent reactive load attenuator - for getting some power amp sauce at apartment levels? I am mainly buying it for recording and headphone capacity, I'm just wondering how good it is as a "traditional" attenuator.

It’s not an attenuator. You want a power station for that.

@@gearoidwalsh8606 It’s not an attenuator at all. It’s a reactive load that feeds an analog cab sim AND an IR loader. It uses the same reactive load as the Power Station which is a reamping device that, among other things, operates as an attenuator.

Won't the also be a slight delay from the IR (being digital) widening the split?

I was actually going to ask if the hard panning is done to let the Haas effect make the sound bigger rather than have phase and time issues shrink the sound.

There is always a little latency when an analog signal is processed through an I.R... however, depending on the euipment, the latency may not be noticable.

I've run a similar set-up with a Rockcrusher Recording and a Two Notes Cab M+. It "feels" like there's a slight time difference that you only notice when you mix the signals to the centre. This is not a technical certainty but it feels that way. In any case, panned L and R the sound is rather good. Even panned 90 degrees L and R it sounds good. I'm still working on trying to get a decent clean sound out of the Cab M+.
