Bloody roar has massive potential as a franchise, it never got the recognition it deserved imo

20+ year BR player here. I can’t begin to dream to execute ANY of the stuff I’m seeing in this video. Salute to SCXCR, JeriTheOG, Hyperbeast TV, totu_q, TN Power & Krizyugofox for keeping the series alive. Seeing this at Combo Breaker gives me hope that it’ll go further.

If anyone's interested, Jerimiah (aka Jeri/jeritheog) and NaN have been evangelists for BR for at least a few years now. Jeri, NaN, and Nubi (another high-level player, one of the best in the community) had a community decision to go to the tourney organizers to change the bracket from BR Primal Fury on original hardware to BR Extreme on Dolphin, for accessibility reasons--like being able to select Fang for P1 & P2 simultaneously, and using different controllers. Which speaking of, fun fact, NaN usually uses a SNES controller to play Extreme, but she had to bust out her backup PS4 pad because the former wasn't working. If y'all wanna see more high-level BR Extreme, Jeri/NaN both stream it regularly. This is the one fighting game IP I want more than anything else to make a glorious return. The rights should go to a well established and promising video game studio/developer, who will understand and know what exactly they need to do with it to make it a banger of a series again.

Fun fact, Fang is Yugo's manga equivalent from the rather obscure Bloody Roar: The Fang. It's... not quite based on the games? I say "not quite" because it shares the name and the zoanthrope element but pretty much nothing else.

Bloody roar has a lot of jump cancel and animation cancels which was pretty impressive for 3D fighter. They nerfed a lot of the pressure and combos with Extreme though.

I've never seen this game played at a high level before but it was so much fun in casuals back in the day. If any old 3D series deserves a comeback after Virtua Fighter, it's Bloody Roar.

Always wondered what high level Bloody Roar was like. I wasn't disappointed.

This game looks so good for its time and it looks AMAZING at high-level. I want to see more of this. Used to love playing this game. To think it was so much more complex at that level, and it give an amazing back-and-forth feel for two players of relatively equal skill. This stuff is hype.

Bruh IMAGINE Bloody Roar IN NEXT-GEN. The beast mode transformations, the fur, claws and fangs... that would be SO DOPE! Unfortunately konami has the rights to this legendary franchise. This game will never see the light of day other than pachinko.

When I was in 6th grade back in 2002, I was really into Animorphs, and a buddy of mine brought the guide book for this game to class, and then I was obsessed with this game. Bought it for gamecube years later, and still love it to this day, even though I suck at it. Great to see people still playing it.

I loved playing Bloody Roar: Primal Fury on my cousin's OG Xbox back in the day (I'm under 28, and I understand what Bloody Roar is 🤣🤣). The OST for this game was great. Konami likely won't do it, but a revival or a collection of the games like what Capcom is doing would be amazing. Fun fact: the announcer for this game is the same guy who voiced the Colonel in MGS2.
