I'm curious as to why someone who isn't at all adventurous with food would want to go on a show where she'll be asked to eat food prepared by strangers whose tastes obviously could be quite different from her own admittedly 'bog standard' ideal. Philip's food looked and sounded delicious - the one who most put himself out to create something really special for his guests - just a shame some either had no taste buds or deliberately marked him down, as the host most likely to succeed.

I would say they were hired by the show to put an small time actress in the show. It's not all reality.
@papercup25179 ай бұрын
@@Robin-op8op Ah, yes, I see. That could be it - or as I just saw BamBabyBrenda has suggested (above), perhaps she did it for the money. Not sure what they get paid to take part in these types of shows, but perhaps it made it worthwhile for her.. The prize money would surely barely cover the cost of food and time spent on the whole thing, and it seems fairly arbitrary who wins that prize - not necessarily the best cook/ host.

@@BamBabyBrenda Hi Brenda - just saw your response - thank you for that. Indeed, you're probably right. It's funny that didn't occur to me before - I must be not cynical/ worldly wise enough! You might like to read my reply to Robin, too.

Immediately Sam saw the starter she knew he was the one to beat so she complained through out and low scored him. Joint first is acceptable i guess.

Nicole- “ a human wasn’t meant to drink or eat cows milk”…. Ummm As she slathers the salmon in butter. 🤣 I LOVE PHILIP…he reminds me of the boisterous fella in Four weddings and a funeral … not the boisterous part, just the look. He’s cool! One does not eat Bruscetta with Cutlery....its a Hand Food
@getin3949 Жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter, people can eat how they like. I think the way the Brits use their forks and shove food onto them with their knives is too weird too but it's their way. I was taught to turn my fork the other way and only use my knife to cut food, nothing else.
@John-G Жыл бұрын
It depends on how the host has prepared or presented it - with cutlery means you can / should use cutlery as you shouldn't tell the host what's right or wrong in their own home.

Why are we enforcing how people should eat?
@yaraeddine1277 ай бұрын
It’s not an English food. It’s Italian from the 14th century, during a time in which people used their hands. Including the British. Or did you forget that England was a bit late in getting to the Age of Enlightenment party and also had the 700 year war with France with whom they culturally competed with for centuries; with the French winning. Etiquette, that word you’re attempting to educate us in (that’s French etymologically) states that bruschetta, when prepared correctly so that nothing could fall off, and that it’s hard enough to; is eaten with one’s hands. If it’s not, then it may be, It’s not briquettes if’s preference. The pretentiousness of that comment gave you the pretentiousness in mine. Learn, before you judge. Or, etiquette states. One must reserve judgement of others, lest they be judged themselves. FYI, bread should be torn into bite sizes then buttered individually. Just in case you use a fork and knife with that.

Sam was being difficult on purpose, she was just plain rude. Kudos to Philip for the effort. People like Sam don't deserve to be in any competition, they downplay others to win, instead of working harder and making more effort to win. She's a basic snob.
@getin3949 Жыл бұрын
She knows she's loud, people have told her she's loud but I see her making NO effort to even try to not be so loud. Many people that are loud have hearing problems which can explain why they are so loud and then some people are just loud.
@littlelizzi3135 Жыл бұрын
Exactly she's annoying and doesn't make any effort not to be 😂
@BamBabyBrenda11 ай бұрын
My childhood bestfriend was loud, it's just how some people are. Just louder than others. She wasn't trying to be annoying or the center of attention just had a natural loud voice. Super annoying that everyone around them tries to shut them down and silence them because they aren't like them. People like you are annoying for that

I'm too loud and also hearing impaired. When I have my hearing aids one there's a prominent difference.

If you're cooking for others, you should wash your hands and/or wear gloves. You definitely shouldn't be licking your fingers and touching the food you're serving. yuck! That's one reason I'm hesitant to eat food cooked by others... I want to know their hygiene standards.
