I use to help my Grandnother with all the decor we would DIY Garland and make apple pie! My grandpa passed away a few years ago and it’s hard every Christmas. But we have a special fancy candle that represents him and before we eat we say a prayer and light the special candle and it represents him being there and watching over us. It’s really special to feel like you are bringing him and honoring him. 🙌🏻 Some of my favorite memories around Christmas are making cookies with my family! You are such a good mommy!

I have no idea how you possibly have this much energy but I must say it gives me motivation! I used to be able to go like you. You are an amazing mom and wife! I will definitely use your recipes for my cookies! I lost my mom and brother And there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of them and miss them and the holidays makes it so much worse and now with my dad ill it's even harder! This could be my last Christmas with him and I am going to make it count! He's teaching me how to make his home made bread, now he can't remember how to make it so I'm using a recipe off line but he will be in his wheelchair by me while I'm doing it!

This Christmas is my 10th one without my momma, who passed on from breast cancer a decade ago-the year I turned 14. My father was abusive and also barely in my life, so I missed out on a lot of parental TLC. Each year has gotten a bit easier but it's always so tough, especially given my seasonal depression that leaves me more exhausted and lonely than my regular depression. Vlogs like this help my depression because I get to see so much motherly (and fatherly!) love enveloping others. Watching you be a devoted and genuinely loving mom in every way you can warms me even during these foggier times. I love everything your channel represents and what it brings to people's lives. I don't have a family "home" to go back to because most of my relatives have toxic ideals and some have mistreated me since I was a child, therefore they aren't really family to me. This makes me extra thankful for my wonderful boyfriend having a real and close family, who are great. We'll be reaching a milestone 5 years together in April, and they like me so they always think to include me in family parties. Most of the best moments of black family love in my life have been from watching his loved ones make the most of their time together. It's a beautiful thing to see, and I can't wait to have a permanent place in it. His oldest nephew already calls me auntie and his youngest niece said she can't wait for me to be her auntie. Luckily for her, we've talked about it and my bf has happily joked that I'm his "ghost of marriage future." 😂 I'm fortunate in ways to be where I am. This is the most love and support I've ever had.
