Exquisite singing with a tone of beauty and understanding of abandonment. It was considered often by critics that she not an intelligent actress or dramatic personage to be taken seriously. Now having gone through a lifetime of travelling with this production and putting them into this role, none matched her.The restraint and authenticity seemed so effortless that it was taken forgranted But the beauty of tone and subtle inwardness was pitch perfect. Some sopranos tried to over act and most of them just meh. The production suddenly became the Domingo opera and weaker performers were found to be a foil.
