I visited Jerusalem for the first time a few weeks ago and I was also there on Shabbat. This was my first time staying in a Kosher hotel and it was really interesting to see things like the Shabbat light setting and how the breakfast was served differently. There was also Kiddush wine on every table on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The lifts were operating differently and this seemed to confuse Jews and gentiles alike. As far as I could tell you just waited for ages, a lift would turn up and it would then stop at random floors. Obviously you couldn't press the buttons to call the lift or to say where you wanted to get off. After a couple of times travelling up and down the entire hotel, I gave up and used the stairs.

Thank you so much for this tour of the kosher hotel. I didn't even realize that there were hotels of this type, and I am absolutely delighted by it. I'm not Jewish, but Christian from Southeast Texas in the US. There are many Christian communities here that also focus on modesty while swimming or being on the beach. I love the idea of a secluded swimming area where people from the hotel rooms or the parking lot can't watch you, and where you can be at peace with just other women. Personally. I'm uncomfortable with being out in the open or exposed while swimming. Also, I am also clumsy and tell people that when God was passing out gracefulness I was hiding behind the door. 🤭🤭🤭 I love Jewish hotels!

My favorite thing about Jewish Hotels is not in this video: Not having to worry about the front doors being automatic or all the room locks being electronic!! I also do respect different cultures and religions but I'm really glad that we don't follow such rules anymore. Many of my dearest friends are men and I would hate not being able to spend time together anywhere and anytime. Moreover: I think the fact that we don't necessarily sexualize the body parts of people and therefore nudity, it makes the daily life and friendships between men and women way less sexual. Because I'm not scared that my body will "trigger sexual thoughts", my body and all its body party are normalized and I can move freely and independently. (Male) friends therefore see me as a platonic friend and not a sexual object, as there is no curiosity about my physical aspects. If I would cover myself and dress modestly, it sends out the message: "Hey, there is something sexually attractive to cover", which has a much higher chance of making people curious how I look under these clothes. You understand? Thats why I'm absolutely okay with going to the sauna with male friends or even colleagues (and we do that the traditional way in Europe, which is fully naked).

This is so interesting, I love learning about anything regarding Judaism. I very much enjoyed going to the Jewish culture festival in Krakow. I wasn't raised Jewish, but my grandmother was born in Romania in 1937, her surname at birth was Zuckermann. She was adopted and came to Scotland as an infant with a baby photo and a little gold star of David amulet. I inherited the little amulet, so I strongly believe that I have Jewish roots. Love your channel

That's heartbreaking if it's true, that she wasn't raised who she was, or taught about her culture. If you're able to find out more, then you could confirm that you actually are Jewish, even if you weren't raised in the religion.

I love Jewish Hotels! My dear, your voice is so lyrical, melodic and soothing! Such a voice comes only from someone who is truly, deeply happy. Hearing you speak is like wearing a beautiful cashmere shawl on a cold day. And now an amusing story for you. Like you, I used to take care of patients. I worked in a convalescent hospital with many many many Jewish patients, and, because I loved them, I learned some Yiddish. One day a woman was complaining about something, and I offered a Yiddish phrase in reply, the basic meaning "What can you do about it? *shrug*" and she replied that I should settle down and marry a nice Jewish boy. I told her that I was not Jewish. Immediately she rose in righteous wrath and scolded me "How can you deny your heritage?! Shame on you!!" I had to reassure her several times that I was not Jewish, but that I LOVED the culture, language, customs (and food!!) and that if a Jewish man ever proposed, I would marry him in a flash! In fact, I was so deeply honored that she would mistake me. It was, and still is, a high compliment.

I love Jewish hotels! What a wonderful location. I would love for you to produce a video on dressing modestly (clothing and hair) both at home and at work - it can be a challenge to find modest clothing. I have incorporated several of your recipes into my routine. The Jerusalem salad is my husband’s favorite! Blessings of joy.
