Probably a sub category of "smart home" - Why you chose which smart devices/IOT you did, whether compatibility, device life support, privacy, etc.

Whoa that fridge is dope!! never seen a fridge with the water dispenser in the inside. pretty cool. love to see the progress of the house :)

I always enjoy your videos because the amount of work and research you seem to put into them - The house upgrades and transitions I think will be just as good because of that. I know you probably want a more interesting questions but, what are those collapsible shade things on your windows? They look cool. The fridge spout being on the inside, does that create more issues? Mold or anything? Never seen that on the inside either. Will the insulation downstairs get walled in eventually or does it stay like that? I've only been in 1 basement ever lol.

I'm glad you think so! The shades I have on the windows are just a temporary shade. They're often made of paper but I found some vinyl ones that block out more light to prevent glare which is helpful. These: amzn.to/3vR0bXh In terms of the water dispenser on the inside of the fridge, mold isn't an issue or worry. I prefer the internal because it keeps the outside easier to clean. Only thing I don't like about it is that I'm holding the fridge open as I fill a bottle or something which seems a bit wasteful. And yes, in Ontario at least it's very common to leave a basement unfinished in a new construction home for a year or two until the house finishes settling and the foundation concrete properly cures. It also allows easiest access to everything in case there is a problem or something that needs to be fixed under the warranty. My office space will likely move down to the basement once I finish it.
