I remember watching this episode over and over again when I was about 3 or 4 years old. This was my favorite episode of Come Outside, and I can still remember watching every bit of this episode. Thanks for uploading this as it gives me good memories of when I was a young kid.

Not only does this bring back memories it also shows how much better work was then. This is barely 20 years ago and the guy is wearing no over the top protective gear. He doesn't need to be seen up there in a stupid high viz coat because he's ABOVE the risk! He doesn't need stupid gloves so he can't feel anything and drops the lamp. Possibly a hard hat, but then again you'd be a numpty to fall from there.

@@FinlaysFireSystemsElectrical ive heard these street lamps can cause damage to eyesight, i have a streetlamp right outside my house and since my street has been recently fitted with new led lamps, it just shines this terrible white light in my room now. But yeah, it's a shame the sodium lamps have stopped production now

I have a streetlight just like that one and from experience of using it, they do not warm up as fast as you saw it in the video, they take up to 10 minutes. His arm must have gone totally numb while covering the censor on that light and I'm sure that woman was driving him mad.

The nobbly things on top of the posts at about 5:57. I just seem to remember her pressing it down. Maybe it would be a hard button to press, maybe it would need a certain amount of force to be pushed. Something so that birds would not be heavy enough to trigger it. Listen, I was about 7. ish? lol.
