Morag Gamble teaches permaculture teachers and designers - join her online classes permacultureeducationinstitut.... She also visits amazing permaculture gardens - LIKE THIS ONE! Come and join Morag and Dan Deighton for an in-depth tour of his suburban permaculture garden. READ MORE....
This one hour garden tour is in like a mini permaculture course for those who want to do permaculture in small gardens. Dan's suburban permaculture garden in Cooran, QLD is simply inspirational - as he is!.
In this video, Dan shows us how he has transformed his suburban landscape (and his neighbour's) into an absolutely abundant permaculture oasis. He clearly explains how he has designed the spaces, prepares his garden beds, plants them out, creates incredible homemade plant food, processes water and food waste from the house, sets up a mini aquaculture system, and robust garden furniture - all the while sharing his design thinking.
The gifts he shares keep coming throughout the tour, right to the very end. I was trying to work out how to shorten film, but couldn't decide what to chop out - it is all so valuable. So here is Dan's garden. Enjoy and share!
And don't forget to subscribe and leave comments and questions.
Dan trained as a Landscape Architect and is considered a master permaculture designer. He is the creator of an award winning integrated permaculture home and garden, and the Laneway Permaculture project - a kilometer long food forest on a neglected public thoroughfare. Dan is also a core member of the Living Classroom and Garden Ambassadors Program doing amazing projects in schools throughout the Illawarra ( / elementalpermaculture )

A fab idea borrowed from Ong Kikongo(my spelling is onomatopoeic!}. I live in Northern Europe though nonetheless, a brimful of tips given in this video interview. A lot to think about how to initiate and to engineer not only within my own little garden oasis. Thank you Morag and valuable guest!❤🙏🏾

Loved this, just want to express gratitude for this generous sharing of information. I would love to find out more about those wonderful worm bins. I had a worm farm in some plastic boxes for a year or two and initially was upset that i kept drowning the bottom ones that would wiggle down into the liquid box at the bottom. It was a very basic set up but high maintenence because I didn't want to drown any worms so I had to always lift off the top boxes to fish them out the liquid deposit. Would love to see Dan talk extensively about his worm technique! Love his technical magic potion. Great food for thought! I have been making more mixed brews with more wild herbs recently (I used to only use nettle and comfrey) and trying to tailor it to each bed by popping the weeds that popped up through the mulch into a bucket of water beside each bed. Working with the principle that mother nature knows what she is doing to feed the soil I was fermenting those a little bit and then diluting the liquid back into the watering can to pop back onto that particular bed. It is a bit smelly but seemed to have good results. I'm gonna research rock dust etc now... came away from this video excited. Thank you 🙏✨️

Does this wealth of knowledge of gentle man have his own KZfaq channel.? If so can someone please inform me and if not please inform him that he should. Thank you for all your words of wisdom Dan Deighton and particularly sharing "The Magic Potion" recipe. One of the biggest misunderstandings within the horticultural world is the lack of adding minerals especially with Calcium.

How long do you ferment them in vinegar, until they dissolve?
@laneeacannon1450
@laneeacannon1450 9 ай бұрын
Well they don't dissolve. The vinegar extracts the calcium from them. After the bubbling action settles down in about a week it's good to go.
