Town Shoes was a high end shoe chain in Canada. In the 1960’s I bought the most beautiful Italian made in two colours with a low ‘squash’ heel. If you get the chance to watch the classic film, Blow Up, you will love the styles, and check out the beautiful shoes.

Yay! What great finds! It is always fun watching these videos, as there is so much to learn about brands. Ryan, that Top Shelf shirt looks like a Liberty London fabric print. I had a Liberty shirt with that exact print on it, that I sold last year. Can't wait to see the haul! 🤩🤩🤩

The word chic is pronounced the way that Ryan said it. The origin is French. In the 1970’s the term was used frequently. Tres’ chic was common as a term.

The brand is indeed pronounced chick. I remember the commercials in the 80s. To be fair, if we are splitting hairs, the French word is not really pronounced “sheik”, there is less emphasis on the i, it’s a “ee” sound but not drawn out. Unless you are singing disco songs. But pretty much anything Ryan says is ok in my book.

Korey is about 50 years old. I started off in the garment industry as a saleswoman in 1980. Ask me, I m as old as the labels. My daughter wears all those labels now.
