I was here in my happy place, surrounded by piles of clothes! Today I'm bringing you to a local favorite, called The Garment District located in Cambridge, MA!
They recently re-opened the "By the Pound" area of the store and I couldn't wait to DiG IN!

It's so overwhelming when you realize how much clothes there are here in the US. I am proud to be a reseller and I am proud of those of us who seek our pre owned clothing for our own wardrobes. I try not to buy anything new except undies. There is enough clothes in the world to last a few hundred years!

That bomber jacket is from a Japanese kids clothing brand called fith co. Size 140 is about a kids size 10 i think.

When I lived in Boston 30 years ago, we always shopped in the Garment district, where we'd buy lots of clothes, we'd always bought second hand clothes, still wear mostly trifted clothes. Love your video, we don't have by the pound here, except for kilo sales but they are very expensive. Even the charity shop are very expensive herein Ireland..

Back in the day the clothes were placed in bins. Then some college kids started dumping the bins out until it looks like that's all there is now.

Fun haul, such an interesting store! My quickest test for mens vs womens pants & jeans is to slip my hand in the front pocket. With men's my hand fits all the way in, while women's front pockets are usually much smaller. :).

That's awesome.. I remember when I was young I would go to this big old warehouse back in the 90's that had piles like 2 story high of clothes. Jeans one side, shirts one, etc.. I would go to the top just so I could play while my nanny would pick clothes so she can resell.

I love the Garment Dictrict! So psyched that they are open again. My kids shop upstairs ($$$) and I kneel and dig. 😂 My grandmother used to always tell me to not iron my linen… she said wearing is wrinkled is how people know it’s real. Ha!

What a cool store! I would love to dig around in there! I hear you on being bummed about the $30 parking ticket. I was rushing to a consignment appointment and saw that "flash" out of the corner of my eye and a week later sure enough I got in the mail a $125 speeding ticket with a picture of me on my way to try to make some money! Grrr! Lesson learned, moving on, just keep thrifting and listing, lol!

I sold a bathing suit at the end of winter last year some people live in warm climates, some people have indoor pools in their apartment complex or people go on vacation and if they are going on vacation the stores will not have summer clothes or bathing suits so people will shop online like ebay or posh

I never park in Boston or Cambridge ... I park at one of the T stations in the outskirts of Boston or just a street I know in Chelsea or Everett or Malden I grew up there ... I park and take the T in ... less stressful then driving in cambridge or boston but now I think require masks so yeah I can;t wear a mask so no T for me . I guess I could park in Somerville and walk to cambridge ... I'll need to brain storm that for awhile to see if it is worth going

I think I’ve been here when I opened a store in Cambridge for H&M but I don’t remember that by the pound thing but back then I had no clue what reselling was. I’m going to have to take a trip there it kind of reminds me of Final Cut except they dumped everything in boxes. It was my happy place I could dig for hours & not even realized I’d been at it for 3 hours lol. I wish it was still opened but sadly they closed the one in my area 😩

@@LorisBostonFound I watch A vogel on youtube menopause mondays and she says after menopause it is time to be kind to our bodies and not to deprive it of food . Our bodies are desperately trying to balance the waning hormone and it can not . She made a great analogy about our bodies during menopause always in a state of fight or flight which triggers the stress hormone coritisol . She is great check her out
