Absolutely beautiful! A lot of the scenery reminded me of Hawaii, the beaches, the lush greenery, and yes even busy towns and cities. But Japan has a certain special something that sets it apart- it's like it makes the viewer homesick for a place they have never been before. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos for us to enjoy!

Konnichiwa🥰Thank you, Douglas-san, for your kind comments as always!🤸‍♀🤸‍♀ Yes, it does have a resemblance to Hawaii, and I also felt nostalgic the first time I visited. and since then, I've been hooked. Actually, the scent of the air is so wonderful! Maybe I was a fish living here in a past life. I wish you could come here and experience this air. If I win the lottery, I will definitely invite you to visit!😉 Wish me luck! 🍀

Hola, Marta-san.

Aston-san, thank you so much for consistently watching and commenting on my videos.🥰 I truly appreciate your support! Iriomote Island is indeed a paradise for nature enthusiasts, with its untouched beauty. I'm planning to edit a sequel to this video, and I hope it'll be ready by the next summer. 😅 As we approach fall, I'd like to create a video featuring the autumn scenery first! However, it seems that due to global warming, this year's fall foliage might arrive later than usual. Please look forward to it. 😁I'm delighted that you liked the rain scene! It would be even better if I could somehow convey the fragrance of the rain too!

Hello Minifix-san,Thank you sooo much for watching the video and for your comment. The Cemal box turtles usually appear very calm, but the turtles there were either being lovey-dovey or perhaps they were fighting!🤣🤣

Nice vid and a beautiful beach. I like deserted beaches. I was on Ishigaki-jima and Taketomi-jima back in early June last year. I really liked Ishigaki-jima, and I want to return and stay longer. And if I do, I will visit Iriomote-jima, Funauki Bay, and Ida Beach. The local Ishigaki people are so friendly. And the local "mom and pop" izakayas were friendly with happy people of all ages and whole families from children to grandma and grandpa enjoying great seafood. Oh, and I miss drinking awamori. Our older son and family joined us on Ishigaki-jima last June, and he went scuba diving and took several vids of large manta rays swimming by just 2-3 meters away. Changing subjects a little, someday I want to visit the Ogasawara Islands, primarily Chichi-jima (Father Island). Because there is no air service, one must take a large ship to Chichi-jima as it is approximately 1,000 km south of Tokyo. The ship departs from downtown Tokyo and the trip takes about twenty-four hours.

Rickard-san 🩷Thanks for all the comments! It seems you've traveled extensively across Japan, even more than most Japanese people! Can you recommend any particular destinations? I'm delighted to hear that your son had the chance to see manta rays up close while scuba diving! Interestingly, you can also experience this by snorkeling on Ishigaki Island. Why not consider swimming with them on your next visit? And please enjoy Iriomote Island next time you go to the Yaeyama area! The nature is breathtaking, and the locals are exceptionally warm and friendly. However, the number of Izakaya and stores is few, so please bring your own Awamori!😁 I share your desire to visit Ogasawara! Unfortunately, I easily get seasick, so I haven't dared to go there. I've heard that the Ogasawara Maru sails on the Pacific Ocean, and it can be pretty bumpy. If you decide to go to Ogasawara, please consider uploading a video! I'll watch it! 😍

@@GetToKnowJapanTogether Yes, I have been to many parts of Japan from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. My wife is from Akita-Ken (a small town called Yokobori that's now part of Yuzawa; her mother was from Kakunodate). Prior to the COVID pandemic, we went to Japan nearly every year. When Japan opened up post pandemic, we returned last May-June 2023. By the way, I viewed your vid re the Akita Shinkansen, and the Komachi, an E6 series train set with its red livery, is a unique and beautiful train set. Its my favorite way to get to Akita-Ken. By the way, in the vid while you were waiting in Omiya Station for Komachi, I know you knew the departure sound (time 1:48) was not the sound of train brakes, but some of your viewers wouldn't know. Speaking of departure melodies, I miss the shinkansen departure melody at Sendai Station. Yes, our son enjoyed the "Manta Scramble" in Ishigaki-jima. I couldn't help from calling it the manta scramble as it's the equivalent of the "Shibuya Scramble" for mantas. As for destinations, I'll start with Hokkaido and work my way south in follow on posts. I like Hakodate and its asa ichi. My favorite, MUST HAVE breakfast is a kaisendon topped with uni, ikura, kani, and hotate. The night view of Hakodate from Mt. Hakodate is beautiful. The city's mix of western and Japanese architecture in some of the residential neighborhoods below Mt. Hakodate is interesting. And the old trams are cute. Because I love the shinkansen, getting to Hakodate is faster with the Hokkaido Shinkansen that uses the H5 series train sets identical to the Hayabusa. About an hour north of Hakodate by car or train is an onsen we like called Ginkon Yu in Yakumo (ginkonyu.com). I prefer smaller, quieter family owned and operated onsens like Ginkon Yu over the large, multi-story, hotel-like onsens. Sapporo and nearby Otaru has much to see, but since I like ramen, I'll visit the Ramen Yokocho and order a thick miso ramen with corn and butter. As you know, Hokkaido has great dairy products and grows a lot of corn and potatoes. And Yezo shika and the dangerous higuma roaming the wide open expanses of this magnificent island. Lake Toya (Toya ko) is nice as is Noboribetsu and its large fancy onsens. In central Hokkaido there is Daisetsuzan N.P. and Furano. And Shiraoi and its Ainu cultural center. My most memorable Hokkaido experience was a trip on board the AURORA, a small sightseeing boat out of Shari that sails to the tip of the Shiretoko Hanto and back. The coastal scenery of the Shiretoko Hanto is spectacular. Snow-capped mountains with waterfalls plunging into the sea. Well, this is enough to digest for now. I'll get back in a couple days with Tohoku, a region I know well.

@@rickardanderson4804 Oh, your Okusama is from the Tohoku area. That explains why you know so much about Japan. Thank you for all the recommendations on Hokkaido! I've never heard of Ginkonyu before, but I checked the link you sent me, and it looks like a fantastic place I'd love to visit someday. I am planning to make a video about Hokkaido in the future, but before that, I need to save up for the trip!😅😅

@@GetToKnowJapanTogether I forgot to mention a couple places in Sapporo in my Hokkaido travel recommendations. When in Sapporo, I really enjoy going to the Sapporo Beer Garden, an old renovated brewery with great food and a wide variety of different draft beers on tap. The large restaurant with the huge copper brewing kettle serves great pub-style food, and the Jingisukan (Genghis Khan grilled lamb) is a must eat dish. Another interesting place is the Sapporo Beer Museum. And of course, no visit is complete without tasting the various beer samples. Just outside the city in the mountains overlooking Sapporo is the old 1972 Winter Olympics site. The ski jumping facility is quite impressive and one can go up to the top for an even better view. And, of course, there is the Sapporo Snow Festival. Unfortunately, I have never attended it. Maybe someday. リック P.S. Sapporo beer is my favorite Japanese beer, and the city of Sapporo is known as the birthplace of Japanese beer. My favorite Sapporo beer is Sapporo Classic. It is unfortunately only available in Hokkaido, and it is brewed in accordance with the German Purity Law. You'll have to go to Hokkaido to enjoy Sapporo Classic.

こんばんは 敦子さん。ヤドカリさん, 亀さん and 山羊さん too while i'm at it (not 蚊さん because he's mean to you) ! I've loved the tour and laughed when i saw the first thing you did as the airplane landed was to eat a local specialty 🤣Thank you and keep showing us the local food. Also nice to see the scenery of tropical places when there is 雨, just as beautiful as when it's sunny if not more. This place must be really peaceful and quiet i hope you enjoyed your trip 😉

Bon après-midi🥰Eodisさん🌸こんにちは Thank you for all your heartwarming comments! The ice cream shop at the airport is really good, so I wanted to share it with you all. I couldn't provide many details in the video due to time constraints, but the ice cream I had was Okinawan tofu flavor (the white one), and the mugwort-flavored one. Actually, they even offer Euglena (plankton) ice cream 😨! I'm delighted that you also enjoyed the 雨 scenery. ☺The trip was a lot of fun, and I got to meet people I've missed. ありがとう again from 敦子🥰、ヤドカリ、山羊🐐、亀🐢❤

what a complicated journey. But it's a big reward if you are able to get there. Having a Clean, calm, and beautiful beach all to yourself. How is the sea water temperature there? Most of the beach here is icy cold, the sea water is freezing cold even in summer.

Hi AD-san,😍😍 Thank you for watching my video again, and I'm grateful for your comment. It means a lot to me.😘 In Okinawa, you can swim from late March to the end of October, with the best season being June to October. Is the sea cold in your area? It sounds similar to Hokkaido! That means you can enjoy some delicious seafood? That would be wonderful. I love seafood😋 Wishing you a great start to the week!
