i recently started TRULY practicing jumps and stuff even though i’ve been skating my whole life! since my lake has melted i might sign up for a figure skating class! you are so inspirational 🤍

BTW as an adult skater, I cannot do that off ice stuff in shoes on that kinda mat. I have got weird sprains (a medial sprain, or cartilage bruise, and a peroneal tendon sprain which is a weird spot to sprain) just from single jumps trying to land on one foot. And I did hop landings. For any adults watching, I Only practice off ice in socks on slippery floor. That way your ankle doesn't take 100% of the shear force in an unsupported shoe on a high friction surface. All the figure skating instructors that teach jumps are like under 25 or learned their jumps under 25 and have no idea how your joints are less forgiving even in very strong athletes as adults. There is no reason we can't learn as adults other than it is less forgiving and you have to train smarter...so save yourself two of my sprained ankles in the last year. They set you back.

Hi. Thank you for your instructional videos they're very helpful! I'm teaching myself figure skating in my tiny city's ice hall in norway cause there's no figure skating teams or coaches where I live and I've actually learned a lot of stuff. You filming yourself skating alone makes me feel less mentally alone about what im doing all alone here if that makes sense. Anyway thank you for being you. Hope all your dreams come true :)

With your ankle problems, I had something like that with my old pair. For me, Bunga pads really helped and it might be due to pronation.
