I've never traveled anywhere. 34 years old and never been on a plane before or out of this small town in NY that I've lived since I was basically born. So talk about never visiting anywhere before ☹️ that's me. 🙋‍♀️ sometimes I feel like the only one whose never been anywhere or on a plane

The city is so beautiful 😍 my grandparents were from Illinois but the very southernmost tip before you ended up in Indiana. Flat. Corn fields. As far as the eye can see. Crazy that they're the same state isn't it? lol 💚💚💚 Also crying over the tattoo coloring 🥺❤

I remember taking this same tour with my 6th grade class !! A couple years before the Sears and Hancock Buildings went up. I used to ride my bike through downtown Chicago and it seemed so much smaller that way. Nice to see the many new buildings that have went up but still doesn't compare at all to the architecture of Spain. Some of the cathedrals in Madrid took over 100 years ro build.

My husband and I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and I couldn't call anywhere else home I absolutely love it here ❤️ I think my husband and I are going to do this boat tour we haven't done anything like this yet either thanks for sharing! So cool there's a lot of beautiful places here! The news is so full of violence and sad things you forget about the wonderful things in the chi!

my friend lived across the street from the chicago theater for 2 years and in logan square for a year. not once did i think about going on a boat tour🤦‍♀️ it was fun seeing the green water *(st. patrick’s day, not roasting the water)* in real life one time!! i love cities🥲 just convinced my boyfriend a city isn’t a bad place to live while we’re young😉

Oh this makes me miss chicago so much! I used to go every year when my parents lived there, I saw your vid and reminisced walking through a very similar art exhibit and then went on to a boat tour as well, so beautiful also in the autumn-winter time such a beautiful city

Wow Jess I must say I totally agree with you, when saying that was a fav Vlog video of yours. I loved it. Your city is so beautiful, I've never visited Chicago but my oldest daughter absolutely loves Chicago and was seriously thinking of moving there during college when her degree path was in teaching. Last minute she switched gears and got a masters in another field, but the windy city is a place she visits often and encourages me to visit as well. I'm sure none of this matters to you or odds are even be read. I know your busy and have way too many subscribers to read all comments. But I loved this one. I will put Chicago on my bucket list.

I don't know how similar it is but a part of Downtown Toronto, On burnt down because most of the buildings were made of wood. After that, the buildings were made out of brick, steel and cement and the brick mill that made the bricks was turn into nature park sometime after it was shut down.

Rebuilding the city after fire and the creating the buildinds for the first world's fair (technically the Columbian Exibition) were big parts of the book.

I spent 6 years of my life strung out and pissed off at the world. So I no longer allow that in my life. 🥰 but I totally get your view point. I love the architecture tours. There is more than 1, I think you were on the one that starts from Navy Pier? The tour guide was wonderful. You didn't ask, but imho I did think she downplay the description and importantance of Prarie Style and Frank Lloyd Wright to Chicagoland. (Did mention the tour that is in Hyde Park.) Also, she did not mention the huge architecture competition between Chicago and New York City.
