As someone with OCD, it’s crippling. I’m not as happy as I used to be. It feels like my OCD has taken control of part of my life. It’s taken away the things that I enjoy in life. If you’re struggling with OCD, never be afraid to ask for help.

I know how you feel, it sucks and it's exhausting, I too suffer from OCD horribly and it caused me my marriage. I'm a good person, I'm kind and giving but I can't turn my head off or do the obsessive things I do over and over again. Howie gives me hope 🙏. I wish you the best to my friend👍

I recently figured out I too have OCD I never told anyone what was going on in my head or why I freaked out over people being sick around me or why I couldn’t touch a door handle. I would sleep in a separate room if my husband was sick or even go to a hotel. I take bleach with me to hotels and spot check everything. My hands are raw from washing them so much and I make everyone in my house follow my hand washing showering rules. I feel like everything gets contaminated by people or things. I can so relate to his comment about watching what everyone touches so I can make sure not to touch it. It is so stressful living like this!

I have horrible OCD. I have thoughts of if I don’t do something a certain way that someone I care about will die, so I’ll spend an unknown amount of time doing something over and over until I get it right, and trying to ignore the thoughts is super hard and scary. I’m thankful that someone understands and says “it’s way more than what people think it is”, bc it’s true. I’m trying to get treatment now, but man it’s day in and day out, and I can’t find the thing to say to myself that can make it easier

I have the exactly same thought. I've to do a "routine" to keep my relatives alive every night before I go to bed, and if I don't do it right, then I've to repeat it all over again. The routine I do is to say my parent's and grandparent's full name and knock 3 times on my wood door. Seems funny when I'm not in the spiral for the 5th time 😅 I went to the doc and got treatment, but didn't feel right somehow so now I'm just used to my condition. Hope it gets better for you!

It’s also very important to make a distinction between mental health and mental health conditions/mental disorder. Everyone can talk about improving their mental health, but not everyone has a mental health condition/mental disorder such as OCD, ADHD, and schizophrenia.

So true, I had psychosis and I dont talk about it to anyone, One of my friend actually created space with me cuz I had an episode years ago 😂 at least that told me I had toxic freinds. Since that day I have learned and grown so much, knowing how everything is possible(Since I litrally am at the top of my carrier, memory is stronger, fitness is great, have developed many skills) have seen the absolute bottom of human life(literally). I did notice people themselves bringing themself down, They should appreciate human intelligence and the perfect health they have rather than scolding self and degenerating each other. I suppose I will talk about my own journey later in life when the stigma is relaxed haha. For now just take care of yourself and know that everything is possible as life itself is possible. ( apart from a very strong concept I followed to master every skill, Im honestly thinking of writing a book when Im noticed haha ). Good luck and stay healthy/build health.

ERP, exposure response prevention, is the ONLY type of therapy that works for OCD. I just want to let people know who dont. I went decades before discovering that. Most therapists, and psychiatrists, have no clue and only leave you feeling hopeless

I wouldn't wish my brain on anybody. I live by 7's and 4's lol when I'm having breakfast I have to have 7 egg whites because that's God's number , or 70 grams of rice . Either the number has to be in the 70's or 40's . When I'm at the supermarket I grab items in the 7th row , if they there's not 7 rows I go for the 4th row 🤣, and if there's not either it fucks up my whole day . I think I'm going to get injured at work or the gym if one number was off 🤣 welcome to my nightmare 😂
