The charity Eastside hosted their annual April Foolery, at the end of April. An annual fundraising event of comedy and jazz was held in London’s glittering Criterion Theatre. 500 guests came to show their support, helping to raise over £29k for Eastside.
Eastside’s mission is to inspire young people through participation in arts programmes that develop their skills and creative thinking. In 2022-2023, Eastside delivered 1,725 workshops reaching 40,173 young people across the country.
The event saw a fantastic lineup of stand up comedians from Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo. Hosted by Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered, Taskmaster, The Now Show, No Time To Die), Comics such as Jenny Eclair, Rajiv Karia, Alasdair Beckett-King, Jordan Gray and more shared the stage with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
All proceeds from the evening went towards Eastside’s Lund Fund, a campaign to raise £1 million for disadvantaged children, by building on a special gift-in-Will from David Lund. Help Eastside say “Thanks a million, Dave!”.
