My understanding is that Victor Borge got started with going almost pure comedy when he was playing a serious concert, and as he was doing a routine trill on the piano, he looked out at the audience, winked at them, and kept playing. The resulting guffaws convinced him to do full-on comedy, although he would also pull pranks on unsuspecting listeners, even as a child prodigy: He would play one of his own pieces, and attribute it to Beethoven or Brahms or whomever. His parents knew all along that this was one of Victor's tunes, but they didn't want to embarrass the guests who listened to him, that they had no clue it wasn't one of the masters! That alone makes Borge one of the greats!

@@jeanparke9373 I can't find any links to him. I'd think there'd be other impromptu videos of him on KZfaq or some mention somewhere on the internet.

The guy is amazing artist - simply amazing! But his violin (the instrument itself) is a little miracle itself - sublime sound! (Either this or the "sound guy" who made the record deserves an Oscar for his work)

This guy has star potential. He's a ham and he's got skillz. I play enough violin to know that he's capable of playing professionally. I heard a little Paganini in there. And the deadpan performance tells me that he knows comedy. What ever became of him?
