I swear only David Tennant and Ryan Reynolds have the same energy in every character they play and they steal the screen. It's like people just wanna meet them so write characters that just are them

I heard David say that and burst out laughing, as I was remembering Matt and David in the 50th together! It was the most fantastic fangirl moment I've had in a while.

In case you don't know how it works, many of the regular panel show comics in the UK are represented by Avalon, who have a TV production arm called Avalon Television. Meanwhile many TV show presenters are managed by Off The Kerb who are connected with the TV production company Open Mike Productions. To cut a long story short, between them they ensure that their clients get maximum exposure on their shows, which means they sell more tickets to live shows and everybody gets rich. This is why you see the same faces time after time on everything from Jonathan Ross to Mock the week to QI to Chatty Man etc etc. You joke about contracts and clauses, but you are in fact absolutely correct, but as I said, don't blame the BBC... it goes right across the board. There is a panel-show-maffia style monopoly going on which keeps certain comics in the public eye while others struggle to get a TV gig.

em diar I didn't know any of that; it makes sense though! Fortunately, I love all these comedians, so extra exposure on lots of TV shows is okay with me. ;-) Thank you for the explanation!
