Jeez... the pillow case is an awesome idea! I started my first bucket of weed tea a week ago, wish I had seen this "trick" first. I plan to strain into another bucket, but this will be so much easier. Next time!

I like to put the stuff straight into the bucket. I got a kitchen colander that fits on the top of a 5 gallon bucket. then I just pour from one bucket to another. I don't recommend using that colander in the kitchen after that. They also make sieves that are made for buckets but those are 25 bucks plus.

That actually would work pretty well and yeah I wouldn't pay $25 for that. Your method sounds extremely easy Thank you for sharing that idea I might try it

The soil builds a nutrient base up while plant is dormant since we are not chemically fertilizing it takes more organic fertilizer to achieve same results. That said over fertilization during the spring summer and fall can hurt the plant so when plant is dormant is the perfect time to overload the soil

If you ever really need to get your wife back for something, just put that pillow case back on her pillow. Tell her it's an old French way to grow fuller healthier hair. Hell, it might work! Anyhow, I like your videos and I'm in Gallia Co. Ohio.

Have you ever had the rain water checked? One You Tuber says the Chemtrails contain Aluminum, among other chemicals, that tie up fertilizers. Making them unavailable to the plants we try to grow. Have not seen any videos where You Tubers have checked to see if this is true, or just a conspiracy theory.

I've heard many things like acid rain and many others. Important part to remember is there's way worse things in tap water or in some cases groundwater. As far as it tying up fertilizers go check out any of our garden videos I use a lot of this tea on our catata berry plants and it went absolutely insane. The sad truth of today is the cleanest water you can probably get is rain water

The smell is because it became anaerobic. If you dump bucket to bucket a few times to oxygenate the stuff, the smell will go away. I am trying 1/2 bucket of chopped clover and 1/2 bucket of comfrey parts chopped. Filled with water to 1" below the top and put the tight lid back on. Going to let it sit in the sun for a few weeks. Probably 4-6 weeks actually. It is suggested you mix it 1 part tea to 10 parts water. Oh and you can pee in the bucket too. Tap water usually contains chlorine which evaporates in a day or two. Fluoride never evaporates. If your municipal water supply is treated with both chlorine and ammonia (makes Chloramine), that can take a whopping 9 months to evaporate out. Chlorine and chloramine are there to kill bacteria and any other living things (there is a list of what it kills). Not what you want to decompose those plant parts with. Leftover plant parts can be buried under a plant that you are starting or transplanting (just don't let roots contact the decomposed material). Clover is supposed to have lots of nitrogen in it. On mature comfrey plants 2+ years old, you can harvest 4 times a year, cutting off no closer than 2 inches above the ground. Best to let it grow as much as it wants about 1 month or so before 1st frost so plant has energy to get through the winter. Fun fact: Another name for comfrey is 'knit bone'. Ancient cultures (Romans in particular) used to make a poultice of the stuff and place it over a broken bone. Made the bones heal faster. It can make other wounds heal faster too but check with a doctor first before using it for anything like that. For my plants I use a handful of Azomite at planting. 44 pound bag lasts a LONG time. I can top dress with Azomite too. And wash it in with comfrey tea. Then later I will use the tea.

@@river4462 Ammonia content for normal human urine is .05g/100ml. TINY TINY amount. But if it sits a day or longer, other components convert into ammonia. The pH of human urine ranges from 5.5 to 7, averaging around 6.2. Civilizations have used urine for centuries. Ancient Egyptians used to use BLOOD as a fertilizer. Some modern cultures now have special toilets and collection systems just to obtain the urine from other waste. Human urine is 100% bioavailable (means that plants can use it immediately and not have to wait for soil microbes to convert from other forms). Let me ask you this - how do you think that RICE in Asia is fertilized?

@@thefrugalhomestead7873 Not a harsh criticism, but you have audio playing that isn't synced with the video. We hear you pouring buckets of rainwater long after we see you pouring the buckets. It's just more of a challenge to focus on the point of the videoj. Again, not harsh... just a friendly heads up.
