hi! a veteran Marvel Future Fight player here! the funny thing about Luna Snow in game is that she is consistently buffed by the dev team, which always puts her in the top meta position since her debut. so in game Luna is literal must-have character for all players, therefore boosts her popularity ingame a lot she's not entirely paywalled, since new players can pick her up through a one-time premium character selector. but then the devs half-paywall her by lock her power under a skin that only sells once a year during christmas. it's very dumb to promote your own original character while also half-paywalling her like that

I absolutely love Luna's design and backstory, now if only her stories were good...

Guarantee she’s heading for the MCU in the near future. Her showing up in Rivals just seems like Marvel testing that comic/game/movie synergy

Luna Snow getting that push, like Wave and Aero kinda did, and people going "wait, who are you?" is kinda funny, because you gotta be real into Mobile Marvel games to go "Hay, I know you!'. Weird how it's not the first time original characters from games were made, they just never made an impact. (Got Caitlin Snow and her moniker Frost mixed up there lol)

And here i was thinking Luna was a brand new character for a game when she was a brand new character for another game.

I think they were going to make a movie and records. but things went wrong and the movie didn't end up happening. but we still got Dazzler out of it as a character who has become a mainstay. also i think i saw in some text that she was originally going to be designed off of Grace Jones, but one of the higher ups changed that. that's what i loosely remember from one of the essays on obscure topics on KZfaq and this article i came across years ago.

Joro Spider was definitely meant to be named after the Jorogumo, a spider yokai from Japanese myth, but, according to a Google search, the term Joro on its own is a term for a high class prostitute, so Joro Spider's name would translate as "Spider Whore" ... This is why you ALWAYS proofread and culturally consult BEFORE you come up with a character name.

I’ve always adored Luna Snow, I dunno why but when I picked up future fight she instantly stood out to me and I tried to find what comic she debuted in just to find out she was an oc. I’m glad she is in Marvel Rivals so she might get more attention from fans and marvel

I really liked Luna Snow. Every single appearance shes made in comics, i have them. But from what i heard, its hard to incorporate her due to her creators situation. You know, since she was created from a mobil game as opposed to the comics, you have a 2 separate parents situation

Agents of Atlas was really good, however there weren't much emphasis on the characters after the event.

This will sound weird, but I found out about Luna after Stan Lee past away. And because I was really sad at the time, I kinda grew attached to her on an emotional level.

Luna is giving me some Night Cat flashbacks. Just ya know. A bit more successful because I don't think Night Cat has been mentioned since the 90s.

Having sudden flashbacks to the previous versions of this type of thing, Dazzler and Nightcat....Dazzler was a failed musical cross-promotion project that went on to greater success as a mutant hero, while Nightcat was much closer in similarities to how they made/marketed Luna (live action counterpart, music videos and singles), both good and bad. Let me put it this way....which one had a recent cameo in "X-Men '97?"

As an honest Luna Snow fan, I share your frustration. Even when I thought Joro Spider is so cool and is not heard again after since, she could be built off as a honest rival and many more! There are so many things that you can do with Luna Snow. Even having her song be on blast once in a while? She has her own song for Bor's sake!

It’s such a weird feeling that i already know exactly who Luna is since i was playing Future Fight *and* read her comics *before* Drake explains who this relatively unkown hero is.

I used to play Future Fight a while back. and I grew attached to Luna Snow as a result. She was a lot of fun to play, and I wish they'd made more of an effort to make her interesting. they definitely should have used her "black" powers more, which I took to be damaging spikes of Darkforce energy. And yeah, the Agents of Atlas relaunch was a mess, I think Marvel needs to stick to teams of American characters (including Asian Americans, but set within America), because it's always weird when American writers try to work with "International" teams, they get too tokenized. I also think it was terribly to try and lump all their Asian heroes together, rather than just including them in the Avengers and other team books. Maybe they could have done a "West Coast Avengers" book set in San Fran, with 2-3 Asian American characters as well as plenty of other characters.

Hear me out The idea of combinding jem and the holograms and kpop sound amamzing. I want to see girl group are secretly superheros and luna is part of it. It could be about pressure on being women or commentary on feminity Why did luna have destruction and healing ice powers? She's struggling internalized sexism. What about ither members? Instead being a healer, she's uses nature aggressively to attack people They have a secret layout to be way from the public's eye and want peace of mind Im tell you. It seems as though they're trying to create more new characters because they can't just keep rebooting/retconning the same old characters forever. Sure, some of them are going to unfortunately be swing-and-a-miss ideas (like Snowflake, Safespace, and the NEW New Warriors), but kudos for trying. I actually like the idea of the characters mentioned. It feels like some good representation without just labeling them "The Asian Avengers" and calling it a day. I'd only really heard of a few of them; Silk, Amadeus, Jimmy Woo, "Iron Fist". Luna Snow herself is an interesting new take on the same old ice powers and I think there's a lot of potential there for a really interesting character.

The most surprising thing about this is that Marvel Future Fight is still going. I played it for a few years before they leaned HARD into a "pay to win" model. With their predatory pricing, and the general let-down of the MCU's Phase Four, I'd have figured it had died during the pandemic.

Personally, I think they should hire a Korean Manhwa team to make the comic. Marvel has been losing out lately to manga and manhwa, Luna would be an excellent chance to get in on that. Release it as Manhwa books instead of as comic books and have some guest appearances once things are going well.

Listen, when Luna snow dropped she was OP. I think she still is, and she was my favorite new inclusion. I wish her and White Fox/the other ancillary atlas agents that were huge in MFF got more (read: better) love.

This isn't the first time marvel comics have toyed with a cross promotional pop music super hero character. There was Dazzler in 1980 and Night Cat in 1991. I wouldn't mind seeing a comic where the 3 decided to form a supergroup and go on a huge world tour and get into all kinds of whacky shenanigans. It'll be like josey and the pussycats but with superheroes!

The way marvel treats its agents of atlas characters is so depressing Any one of them could be the next big thing but they need an actual consistent run

Man, I really love Luna Snow and the person they picked to voice her in one of her songs but yeah Marvel really dropped the ball hard on her in comics And there won't be time to introduce her in the MCU because you got a Devil's Reign event starting in the MCU and you got the multiverse going on along with it. On top of that, you got too many characters to keep up with The perfect time to introduce Luna Snow into the MCU would have to be post-Secret Wars, in the new soft-rebooted MCU

I had really high hopes for Luna Snow as I really enjoyed what LOL did with KDA and their music was really good. So when I saw Marvel was going to attempt the same thing with Luna Snow I was interested but then was disappointed by the unused potential of the character. They only released like 2 songs and she never really got her own books outside of her small run. I was kind of hoping that maybe she would become a member of the Avengers with as much as Marvel was trying to hype her up. Whats sad is that you could do alot with her especially with marketing they could even have done a crossover with Spider-Gwen and have Luna and the Mary Janes do a fun crossover album. Unfortunately Luna Snow joins the list of characters Marvel forgets they have but the companies that make their games remember for example she will be a playable character in Marvel Rivals.
