Whats wild is it was even more retconned than this. The 50's Cap was retconned into existence 1st before Nasland and Mace. Even referenced by Whizzer I think. And a great but sloppy retcon Burnside was, since 1st he was created as the 50's Cap, ignoring that there had been a post WW2 Cap. So that meant they had retconned away any of the post WW2/pre-Korean War Cap adventures. Then shortly after, maybe reezlizing this, they had Whizzer return and in a dramatic scene say the real Cap wasnt the Cap he fought beside (since no Invaders or Liberty Legion yet). And they referenced the "recently" defeated 50's Cap as having been the one Whizzer knew. Which meant Burnside (unnamed yet) had been retconned as having acted before WW2 and now as part of the All Winners Squad. Then they retconned it again, by having Whizzer been an ally of Steve's in WW2 thanks to the Invaders comic, meaning Whizzer had met both. Then thanks to the What If that became quick canon, retconned yet again with the Nasland and Mace Caps creation. And that was just the convoluted, but wonderful history up until the early 80's. I don't even want to look at updates since then, lol.

Already commented, but had to say I love Roy Thomas' style of rectonning best (appropriate considering he coined the term); his embraces the past by weaving the new in without disrespecting the old. Cap, Invaders and All-Star Squadron come to mind as wonderful examples. And little nice touches, like 50's Cap's uniform being slightly different than Steve's reflecting the 50's comics having the waist stripes not extend to the back, or having Earth-Two GA have brown hair as he did in his 1st Golden Age appearance or two.

Two things. 1. Secret Empire was such a good story. 2. When OG Cap took down hydra cap, there are literally two Steve’s running around now in the 616 reality. No idea when they will bring hydra cap back.

@@SirDot So I was not hallucinating, Hydra Cap did change to the superhero side but then, there's two good Steve Rogers since Jason Aaron has Kobik Captain America. Man, this is just stupidity at its peak. Also, hate how Hydra Cap is being treated like a fool, he was literally the smartest version of Steve Rogers.

The young Burnside fellow looks like Chucky. Or Annabelle. That Cap and Bucky being put on ice by the government while researching a cure would make a lot more sense if the gov't was trying to replicate the serum again and test the limits of what it makes a human body capable of. Thanks again, Drake!! Cool episode.

I wonder if they'll ever have Sharon Carter take up the mantle. From the looks of things she's one of the only supporting characters for Cap who hasn't picked up the shield and I think it'd be neat even if the bad Marvel fans whine about it

The anti SJWs would lose their minds. They're already having a huge problem with a black guy being cap...... if they gave the shield to a WAHMEN theyd lose their shit?!?!?! Of course it would give them more content then them hating on Brie larson does.....
