I really love this one. Those old comics are such a great way to peek into the era. Plus the artwork is unbelievable

I've never been too much into comics, but these sound like fun reads.

The Phantom will always have a special place in my heart... it is mostly the first strip I would read.

All great strips! My favorite by far is Terry and the Pirates. The influence of Milton Caniffs artwork could be traced through generations of comic book artists and when you read these,it's easy to see why this happened. But even better than the art is the writing-the stories and dialogue beautifully captures the era with humor,action,romance,unforgettable characters and high adventure. A true masterpiece of comic art!

Great list! I remember Prince Valiant. The artwork was beautiful, but it was a weekly strip rather than a daily probably because of the time it took to make. I loved Dick Tracy, too.

Phantom and Prince Valiant should replace 2 and 3 in the top 5

A good pick for 1. Although I probably would have put Wash Tubs at 1. and Terry at 2. I would probably have given Hal Foster & Brune Hogarth’s Tarzan an honorable mention as well.
