This series is so abstract and its players so obscure, or rarely invoked, it takes watching Rob's video to get a clear picture even after reading it on your own.

I don't even know where to buy comics anymore, you used to be able to get them at your local grocery store, but now you have to go to a book shop or specialty store. Here you can read the comics and have them explained simultaneously. My need to collect them no longer exceeds my need to get the information in them, I am what is called a lore collector now. You get so much more information from these than any individual comic.

What is going on here is one of the better concepts that Marvel has going along with expanding upon the roles of oblivion and the in betweener in the cosmology of Marvel.

Since they have increased power levels in marvel comics to an insane level they should bring zom back in full. Not just a piece of his essence like with world war hulk. It would be insane to watch the over powered version of thor, Owen Reece, future Franklin Richards, Robert Reynolds, Adam Brashear, and maybe even future over powered versions of the x-men like Emma frost with the cyttorak gem. Just the most extreme fight in marvel comics history. Oh yeah the new hulk with strength amplified to the highest setting.

Would be fun if this weaved into the Enigma saga as well, with Essex somehow having set up this network of Skinner Boxes. Could be a mix of intelligence gathering and distraction: Mail them to any being with any amount of power and any motivation to use them - from mid-level villains all the way to the highest order of cosmic beings - and have them wreak havoc with them. And if they start enough fires at the same time, no one will notice his ascension to power. Could even bring the King in Black storyline into it, which is _also_ unfolding currently. After all, the known antithesis to Knull is known as the "Enigma Force"...

It's funny how the realm Wyn and Strange go to through the exit in the Skinner Box looks like the inside of the Tower Of Fate (from DC, which is, of course, based on the M.C. Escher illustration). It'd be great if there was some realm between comic book universes and all those Skinner Boxes were us readers...

I think Marvel told us already who is behind this. Enigma (The Crown) The panels with the one above all telling the defenders about the enigma. I mean the one above all did say he knew that enigma was absorbing universes. And Enigma wants to absorb everything into knowledge while oblivion just wants the destruction of everything. their goals align to some extent and if they do work together, afterward oblivion might be stronger because of his principal and he would be able to wipe out enigma like nothing.

I almost feel like we might be seeing a War of the Gods scenario. Where Oblivion, Enigma, Mother of Horrors, Beyonder, and maybe others like Lost One and Black Winter all make a move at the same time or as a reaction to each other.

@@charliegaridel Holy shit that would be insanely dope. The lost one, the black winter and the mother of horrors were ones that kinda slipped my mind honestly. Cant forget that Storyteller Loki and Eddie Brock (The Eventuality) have also reached those upper levels of power. This really could shape up to be the biggest most badass Battle Royal to ever happen period.

@@charliegaridelThere is also a venom that absorbed and recreated an entire universe, maybe even a multiverse and Tony Stark became an AI almost identical to Enigma and basically became the TOAA of his multiverse. This is not a new idea, even in marvel continuity. We haven't been explicitly told that this crown entity is Enigma yet but we do know it's is one big piece of the puzzle. I think it would be a mistake to assume that Enigma is the end all be all of all powers. Maybe it's the Marquis of Death for all we know, I kinda doubt that but he was only defeatable by another version of himself. There is definitely still a missing piece to this puzzle.

If oblivion destroys creation, then it wont be an empty nothingness left, there will be a "Ruin" of empty "Space" left, something that might remain forever instead of "nothing at all".

Can we be honest about something? Marvel screwed up their cosmic stories years ago when they started to severely nerf Galactus and Phoenix. So now we have regular earthlings that can challenge cosmic entities.

I wonder if Kieron Gillen and Jonathan Hickman ever talk. As far as I know, it was Kieron Gillen who began the modern interpretation of Mister Sinister or some version of him as a cosmic heavy hitter, with Gillen's Mister Sinister going toe-to-toe with the Phoenix Five.

If they're going to be very metaphysical with this, which they appear to be, Oblivion can't do much. He's surrounded by things and doesn't have much power. That's why he needed Robert to use the Oblivion Stone and create oblivion, small o, so that Oblivion, capital o, has power. As long as things continue to exist, Oblivion isn't very powerful.

at 6:35, when Rob is talking about the Allegory of the Cave, it seems to me as a reference to FX's "Legion": the explanation is almost identical to the one Jon Hamm gave in the show. Hope i'm right and this is intentional :D
