This is my favorite version of Spider-Man, the older, married version. Who has learned from his young adventures and is now considered a great hero, like I already see him as. As the original teenage superhero, it just makes sense for Peter to be the one to mentor a new generation of young heroes, and him having a young hero as his own child really reflects that. It's called Character Development, Slott and Quesada, and it's a good thing.

This is Peter Parker. Because he actually takes some responsibility for once in his life. Marrying Mary Jane and deciding to actually make efforts to balance both his home life and his superhero life. THIS is what Spider-Man should be.

It's such a shame this isn't canon; there's so many stories they could get out of this, especially if it were connected to the main Marvel universe! Instead, Peter's just another billionaire with the "superhero body guard" schtick lifted directly from Iron Man.

Ah, I was wondering how MJ and Peter were together again. So in the main book Peter and MJ are still not together? That is so lame. This is WAY better, and finally Peter gets to grow and become who he was meant to become rather than keeping him in a perpetual state of losership

So in the main universe, Peter is basically a businessman who has all but stalled in place as a superhero and as a character, while a noncanon side story dares to actually advance the story and give ham a family, making him a dynamic and interesting character along with his family. Gee, I wonder which one is the more popular story? I really do love the idea of superhero families. It's like with the DC Rebirth and the Superfamily. They told pretty much all the stories they could with Superman alone, so now it's time to move on and give him a wife and son- and they've done a brilliant job of it! There is yet to be a bad story from the Superman or Action Comics line since the Rebirth! While I have not yet read these Spider-Man books, I feel they're in pretty much the same position. It's too bad Marvel executives and the current Spider-Man writer are so dead-set against finally retconning and reversing One More Day all together. Because I feel like this Spider-Man with a family is far better for it.

What really gets me is that Peter is just pretty much Tony Stark in the main universe. Wasn't he supposed to represent the average guy? Why would they think having him married was something that distanced him from the readers while having him rich a.f. with his own company and such more "relatable". What the fuck Marvel.

Yes. This is what happened to the Spiderman I grew up reading. None of that one more day BS. Spiderman and Mary Jane live happily ever after, have more adventures and raise their daughter who becomes a superhero in her own right.

I really liked this story because it showed a great deal of character growth for Peter by becoming a husband and a father, and thanks to one more day he did the opposite of what his Uncle Ben told him. He shirked off his responsibilities of the mess he created and reverted back to being an non caring bachelor. I always liked how after Peter and Mary Jane got married not only did Peter have someone in his corner, but Mary Jane also grew as a person as well.

I just love the dynamic of the three. That story was great. I like this more than the ANAD universe where all the Civil War 2 stuff was going on. The 616 Peter just isn't the normal Spidey any more. This alternate version is even with wife and kid closer to the original Spidey than 616.

Yeah. The exact number of how much weight Spidey can lift has changed throughout the years, from 1.5 tons to 10 tons to even more, but sufficed to say if Peter punched a completely normal human at full strength, the punch would rip that guy's head off and send it flying thousands miles away.

Tevya Smolka your profile picture just made me think, maybe we'll have some Rebirth like event so it does happen. While their Star Wars titles and higher priced books are still keeping them slightly higher than DC in sales recently, they're comics haven't been up in quality or popularity, so it's likely. Whatever they do they'll probably do it as fast as possible, Superman Reborn is great so far, there's the Watchmen button mystery coming soon and they just announced a big Batman event so I have no doubt DC will overtake them by then. Or they could just ignore the fans like always and pump out another Star Wars title.

Tevya Smolka it probably won't happen, Marvel never reboots. It's their thing, their way of saying how different they are to DC. At best they do soft reboots (Secret Wars, the dreaded and evil One More Day) or reshuffling of the deck (Civil Wars 1 & 2) to try and change things up. The closest Marvel ever got to a full on DC like reboot was the Ultimate Universe, rather than just being a alternative multiverse you'd see from time to time it was a full on fleshed out set of comics which they made to try to make the Marvel universe more 'current'. And well the only two things that people enjoyed from that 'reboot' were both transported to the main universe: Miles (I really hate that he's also called Spider-Man makes things confusing) and evil Reed. Marvels biggest problem is storyline loose ends that they don't know how to tie. If they did that the storylines would be much better (send back the original Xmen to their timeline I mean seriously this is beyond Flash Point screwed up by now), oh and finally stop teasing that the Mephisto deal is pretty much been rendered void & give us back Peter & MJ. They're pretty much Marvels Lois & Clark

thank you and i am hoping marvel does take a page from DC rebirth and gives us back a married spider-man in the main universe i would be so happy in my opinion to see that happen because if superman can have his marriage come back and both pre 52 superman and pre 52 lois lane can have a son named jon who is also awesome by the way and alive and kicking. Then there should be no excuse why can't peter parker and mary jane have a daughter too alive and kicking in there main universe too

This is the only Spider-Man series I am reading and it is so enjoyable! Dan Slott may say that this will never happen in the main universe yet he is just one writer. Positions change, and people shift jobs, thus viewpoints alter. Thus its actually false to think that MJ and Peter will never restore their marriage, but it could be way far in the future. For now, reading this book is showcasing that the family aspect works and it is great. People who want to support a non OMD spider-man should probably support this series to showcase their interest. Besides, who really wants this Peter and family in the 616? Have you seen the mess that it is? I'd rather it stay here where Gerry is allowed to write whatever he wants and not have to fear that some event is going to kill Annie off for SHOCK VALUE

This is the way it should be. All those bone heads at Marvel that are against a married superhero should get over themselves, and their own depression and shitty love lives and drawn inspiration from someone other than themselves. Honestly at this point I think they're just being moronic dumbasses who want the "official" main Spider-Man to have a shitty love life because they can't deal with him being married for some stupid ass reason. I'd love to hear Dan Slott's reasons for making multiple rants about this never going to be canon. I honestly can't think of any reasons that aren't selfish douche bag reasons for this situation or wanting to fuck with the character because the writers are sadistic moronic fucks that can't stand super-heroes having normal-ish lives.

I'm not sure what that last bit is about, but it sounded like it was supposed to be an insult... Anyways, I'd rather see ONE super-hero managing to pull off the marriage thing for a decently good amount of time. And a successful marriage isn't unrealistic if you have the right people with the right personalities, besides, if they're going to "nullify" a marriage, I'd rather see them do it in a more reasonable way than they did in "One More Day". Fixing what the editors thought the fans saw as a "bad choice" with an even more ridiculous and worse choice has only spawned more hate and loathing. I know what their "target audience" is, and frankly while Bachelor Ladies Man Spidey is "more relatable" and is the "dream guy", some of us like to dream of being able to have a successful marriage or even a stable relationship. To those of us who want to see this, the constant amount of "nope you don't get a successful marriage, nope you don't either" it's like a slap in the face saying "how dare you dream of possibly having a marriage that doesn't fall in the shitter". The Playboy Super-Hero is overdone and it honestly needs to stop being used so much, some of us are just flat out sick of this archetype. Is it too much to ask that there be ONE super-hero in the main continuity that DOESN'T have their marriage ruined? According to Marvel's writers from what I have seen: Yes, yes it is.

As much as I love Renew Your Vows, it also frustrates me in a way. Dan Slott wrote this, and I think this is without question his best work, second best going to Superior Spider-Man. He wrote something that had heart and felt like an actual Spidey story. If he can do that here, then why the fuck can't he do that in the main book? It irritates me. On a side note, I'm loving the Renew Your Vows series, but I'm sad that it's not selling that well. That book should be selling a lot more than it is currently.

Why cant this be actual spiderman, why does spider have to get screwed over at every turn, we almost had this, and then the writers thought it wold be a good idea to erase all that and make peter and mary jane never meet, WHY??

Didn't Mephisto break his deal during Spider-Man/Deadpool or was that another character, but DAMN! I hope Marvel finds a way to fix this. Everytime I try to read a Spider-Man comic I always think about their relationship and how it was perverted and taken away to fix a problem back during Civil War.

I would bring in a team, do a hostile takeover, induce hypnosis on all important personnel in Marvel Comics Group and create an entire MU Restoration event that sees not only Spider Man being restored with OMD destroyed, but no Captain Nazi, Worthy Thor, Jean Grey returned, etc. I would make everything great again.

Edward Brock Toxin I forgot where this comes from but I once read that using spider sense? spidey can read the movements of everything to the point that he can even predict the future. Hers is probably a lot more powerful

I thought Kaine's Spider Sense was like that. He gets prophetic dreams but no actual Spider Sense in combat or day to day activities.

Its called intuition but on a massive scale. Like Chrono Hammer stated, reading the movements of everything, using all the senses in sync to predict what's about to happen. Annie May, born with it would I assume be able to use this ability to greater lengths

Their relationship in the main timeline is pretty similar to that of Nightwing and Starfire, ie writers try and pretend it's not a thing and try and pair them off with any other characters they can. Another similarity is that in the "Kingdom Come" timeline they also have a child but they'll probably never do that in the main timeline. I do understand why they don't want those kinds of thing in the main timeline because it means that a lot of other stories with those characters would have to fit with that story as well.

I've been waiting for this story to come to this channel FOREVER! I think I'm enjoying it more than I realisticaly should be, but how could I not? Also, I hope we get to see more of Spinneret and Spiderling outside of the comics(Fingers crossed for Marvel Legends figures at least).

I think that it's nice that we can still get a married Peter Parker and Mary Jane while maintaining the status quo. If it's not the main timeline/universe, fine, but it's still cute to see the family together.

Spider man was the comic that got me back into reading comics right at the end of The Other story-ark. Which led into Civil War where all the characters I wanted to read about started beating the crap out of each other and was followed again by one more day. And after that I stopped buying spiderman altogether. and not just his solo book but any book he appeared in. Since then I usually rotate between only a few titles that I absolutely love and anything else I want to try I will pick up in trades. Secret wars happened and I saw Renew your vows on the shelf and for the first time since one more day I bought a spiderman comic. And after Secret Wars I stopped again until this series showed up. Vote with your wallets and show Marvel what will make them more money.

I feel that the combined normal family thing isn't as good as the unique way spiderman comics were before, I mean they can still be a family but not as integrated cheesy and happy as the way it is now. This story was good but more like this and I wouldn't be able to handle it. Still a cool story.

This is a great Spider-Man story. Peter named his daughter after his aunt may. Peter's and Mary Jane's daughter has some sweet spider powers. This is a top twenty comic of the year just my opinion.

I want to see a married Peter Parker and Mary Jane in the main Marvel Universe. This series is by far one of the best things Marvel has done within the last 10 years. I never miss an issue and I buy the trade paperbacks as they come out. I'd love to see this storyline made into an actual movie

This is really cool! I really like the family dynamic in this. It reminds me a lot of Spider-Girl as well as the current Superman series. While I do love what the current Amazing Spider-Man stuff is doing, I think I prefer this setup more.

This is what the main Marvel Universe should have. Fans have been wanting this storyline since 2007. Believe me this is the only Marvel book that I actually buy as soon as it comes out. It's much better than the current Spider-Man series.
