This is literally the paper version of any hack and slash game you can think of. Just instead of the computer doing all the calculations for you, you do it yourself and praise this game for being one of the best board games out there. Geeezzz... Thumbs up for the videos. Yeah, that's kind of how board games work... You do everything rather than "the computer calculating for you"....

Thank you for this video, I just ran this scenario with my kids and I needed to see someone else run it to insure I was not missing anything, loving the game but worried I am not executing the rules 100%, great video, much appreciated!

I just finished the 5 scenario glad I’m watching you video before jumping any farther. Totally forgot about bad guys dropping money when they die. 🤦‍♂️

@@DaletheCasualGamer I also like the dice idea to tack health on the bad guys. It is a lot cleaner and saves from fumbling through the pile of damage tokens.

Didnt even think of using dice for the minion health, going to have to start that. I'm only on scenario 5 but wanted to double check I was playing right but using all the tokens is so fiddly! Dice makes sense.

@adziboy93 I've gotten to the point where I have different colored dice with me just to use as counters in games. Just makes life easier ... until someone else picks them up and rolls them, that can be a problem. :D

Your editing style makes Gloomhaven videos fast paced and fun to watch, which can be quite a difficult task. :) Out of curiosity, does this game have any of the event/encounter/whatever cards seen in the main game? Is there any unlocking of content like classes or side quests? I guess, how much has been stripped away to make Jaws of the Lion a more streamlined experience?

@Jay Plays I just played the first 5 scenarios. Upgraded cards are unlocked, and there were 4 small boxes to eventually unlock. I don't think they are characters, but something. So instead of several characters to play, I believe you just have the base 4 with just under 30 scenarios, where the original had, well quite a few more and I think about 100 scenarios if you did everything.

Hi, the bless and curse modifiers for the monsters should not be inside their modifier deck. It was taken out in the beginning of first scenario as of rules and will be added in the next scenarios. Am I wrong?

Does it get more tactically interesting? It looks cool... always looking for good solo challenges.

@XHuntinatorX It's not your typical dungeon crawler. I think it is very tactical due to the cards and planning how to move, get attacks, avoid traps or trigger traps so that it effects enemies and not yourself. But this is different "tactical" than the typical miniatures game. I liked the process and from the original Gloomhaven played tons (over 100 games between a couple groups). I would recommend starting with this version as it is more streamlined, but I do want to point out I no longer have this game. Not because I don't like, I just played so much of it and my shelf space is getting a bit too tight. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)

@@DaletheCasualGamer Hey thanx for the info Dale... when you were upgrading at the end I could see that it would be a cool game as your character progresses. I’ve noticed that sometimes the first several scenarios of dungeon crawlers are just something you have to soldier through before the game gets really fun. Enjoying your channel man, keep up the good work.

@@XHuntinatorX The first 5 scenarios in this campaign are geared at "teaching the game", so after that it will get a bit more complicated. I only recorded the 5 introductory sessions.
