I like the C&C "hypothesis" that Einstein created a split timeline via his meddling in Red Alert, so whatever brought the Skrin and Tiberium to Earth in the classic timeline was averted in the Red Alert timeline, and that resulted in the disappearance of Kane from Red Alert 2, but did enable the rise of Yuri (and George Takei and JJ Simmons and Sparrow turned General) in RA3.

incredible writing. I miss this era. An apocalyptic plague of an alien that doubles as "Spice"/the new oil and makes forests turn into bloody zombie-tree meat forests? Mysterious guy Kane running the world thru conspiracy? And GDI has to conspire themselves in order to get the funding to respond? It's such a unique perspective on geopolitics, to even be able to write this stuff. It's nothing short of brilliant.

This is written and played rather straightforward and serious, compared to whatever the hell is happening in the cutscenes of later C&C games.🤔

I tried to get the Ion Cannon ending, should have worked but somehow failed despite finishing off the Temple with the Ion Cannon. Also, on a different note, I like how Verhoeven:esque the cinematography seems, with the news media and tv commercial footage format used in part of the cutscenes.

That is very unusual. If it keeps happening from the same savegame, you might have to start the mission over. That should fix it, the odds of the same fluke happening twice in a row should be negligible. (Though it seems the savegame you have is somehow messed up).

I ask myself sometimes how Nod could convince people that GDI is killing people. With so much power consolidated and military force concentrated on a single organization. You could get any outfit of folks to look professional enough to do something pretty awful and convince a fair bit of folks to think your enemies are monsters.
